Where to get bathroom mirror with traditional frame?
Comments (7)If you didn't have a custom vanity made, you can go to Michaels or any picture frame shop and have wood frame made to exact size style and color you wish. They will probably be able to put a mirror in it too. Or take the frame to a glass/mirror shop and ask them to mount a mirror in it. You can even specify how wide a beveled edge you'd like. -Babka...See MoreBeveled or unbeveled mirrors in this bathroom?
Comments (9)Thanks, everyone, for all of your help. Since it was a "split decision" I decided to get out to the glass company to actually see their mirrors in person. They had a 36" x 24" beveled oval and it was gorgeous. Nearby was an unbeveled rectangular mirror and it looked, frankly, somewhat cheap. To be fair, it's possible that the oval shape might give a different impression but I decided not to take the chance and ordered our mirrors with a 1" bevel. Palimpsest, your experience got me thinking about an oval mirror I bought at Home Goods when I was testing out sizes. It's smaller than the ones that we ordered and has a beveled edge. I dug it out to take a look at it just now. It looks really cheap also. Why? Well, I measured it as only 1/8" thick and the ones in the glass showroom are 1/4" thick which affords a nice deep bevel. I think that makes a big difference. So, thanks again for the help!...See MoreBathroom mirror dilemma?!?
Comments (4)Ok, thanks for all the input! I recently found a place that will cut the mirror AND bevel the cut edges for me, YAY! It's not the cost that's the issue, I just hated to waste a good mirror. Hubby got it off the wall in one piece & I have the prettiest glass & metal mosaic tiles to frame it. (a frightening note - it wasn't glued or anything, just held on the wall with those little clips!!! We're lucky it stayed in place for the last 8 years!) Will post pics when done....See MoreCL mirror for bathroom? Yes or no?
Comments (23)I remember a bath with those swag lights that had both of them swagged to one side, one higher than the other. Any chance that would work for you? You could then have them on the outside of the space further to the left a bit and it would give you more room. I think it would work with a larger square mirror, if that appeals to you. If the light on the left stayed close to where it is, but was up higher and the other light was hanging outside it, just a bit lower, maybe as low as they are now? And with not quite so much slack in the chain. Not one directly above the other, but one over more to the left a bit....See MoreChisos
