Anyone have a wood floor in master bath?
Comments (7)I've had brazilian cherry in my bathroom for the past 10+ years. No damage, no worries. I wouldn't put in in a kids' bath, but I have no worries putting it in a master bath. Bamboo I'd have no reservation about at all, there's so much resin in bamboo that the better products (all bamboo, no softwood underplies) are pretty durable. Terragren (used to be TimberGrass) is my favorite bamboo. Mongo...See MoreGOOD LAWD...help! Master Bath Floor: Marble or Wood Look Porcelain
Comments (13)Jan, maybe I am using the term border inaccurately? The way my walls and vanities flow, the "border" I speak of will serve as a backsplash, continue (same wall) to the tub area, freestanding, and hence the wainscot height (with wall tile under it). That area flows to the shower with 45 degree angles (3 windows), where I want to continue the "border" and tiles. The tile does NOT look like it goes with the slab in my above pics, but it does very well, as dos the hex tile. Think your underlying idea is shower and floors should match? Or maybe I AM using the term border correctly, in which case you don't like. :-) If so, trim ideas? TY!...See MoreMasterBath Remodel
Comments (53)So regarding the cab color, I recommend getting samples - do you want to go light or dark? Your tile seems to have a bit of white as well as dark gray/black (its kind of hard to tell from the pic). A darker cab will really anchor the room while a lighter cab will give it a lighter feel. Recessed lights, if placed properly, can be used in conjuntion with wall sconces or even a chande. You can always look for a toned down light fixture for a more streamlined look. In your earlier post, you mentioned the industrial style. A hanging fixture could definitely provide an industrial feature. Hope this helps!...See MoreMaster bath remodel: wood tile wet room help?
Comments (1)IMO wood look tile is already dated and was always best put where you would do real wood so not in a shower for instance. I like a clean look of 12 x24 porcelain tile in a color you like and used for the floor in the bathroom and the walls in the shower with the same color in smaller tiles for the shower floor. Then some white fixtures , chrome metal. FYI to have a free satnding tub you need at least 12” all around it just to be able to clean. Not sure what the last pics are since they do not show a free standing tub. A nice simple modern drop in tub with no wall tile would be nice . Please no tower on the new counter , you have ahuge space I am pretty sure you vcan find enough room for storage somewhere else. Make sure all your lighting is LED 4000K if you want all the choices you make to stay true at night I also would do the new lighting before making choices ....See Morelaceylaughter
