Things to do Prague/Budapest
Comments (16)When I was in Budapest, we met some friends for drinks at the Four Seasons. When we arrived, there was a crowd in front of the hotel, obviously waiting for something, and being kept back by a velvet rope. A few minutes after we settle in the bar area, the actor Jude Law is escorted in. Ah, that’s who the crowd must be hoping to see. After he’s identified (by my movie fan sister), I think to myself I don’t believe I’ve seen any of his movies. Later I check IMDB and find out not only was he in the movie The Grand Budapest Hotel, but I had been to see it just before leaving for Europe. I guess he didn’t make much of an impression on me - I was in a grand Budapest hotel, weeks after seeing him in a movie about a Budapest hotel, and I still didn’t know him. Is that the sign of a bad memory or a talented actor that really loses himself in a role? ETA: I love the range of questions we get here, there’s always something for me to learn or something to trigger a memory. I’ve enjoyed being reminded about my trip. And being reminded I haven’t been to Prague yet and need to rectify that....See MorePrague citsuma in ground - zone 7b update
Comments (17)I hate to be pessimistic, but I can't imagine not having to protect it at some point, in certain years. Personally, I would set up a frame around the plant each winter, and have a light and a cover ready to go in extreme cold. That would not be too much trouble for something I want around for a while. Best of luck to you!...See MorePrague citsuma update
Comments (7)Laura, please, correct me if I am wrong. Do you get winters anywhere close to what I get? wind chills of below 0 many times and lows into the single digits? Snow, blizzards and the like? I always imagined you living in an area with harsh winters like me. NO? By the way, you are so very kind. If you have winter a heck of a lot milder than mines, it may not be a good idea, I don't know. Ugh. This is my area today. 24 degrees today. Spring may come next month. I am happy it survived for you))))...See MorePrague citsuma in ground update
Comments (22)Hi Steve! I looked through some of the posts and saw that your trees are also well. Alexander is fine - full of flowers. I think he took some time off from holding fruit. Maybe he needed a break and I also think he may need a root trim and some freshening up of the 5-1-1. I feel so much better this year with the tree situation because I can light them better, check for bugs, and it’s much easier to water them. Alexander is in that corner - hard to see but he’s there. :)...See MoreLaura LaRosa (7b)
