Kim, Yes i made the quilt,and the uncle sam on the porch i got at a yard sale several years ago for 3.00.When you turn him over it's an easter bunny.So in spring i display the bunny,til after easter,then turn him over to uncle sam. I still have several more patriotic cross stitch things to put up,but i have to wait til i recover from surgery.I also recently started adding Red to my kitchen so i can carry the R/W/&B out there as well. I've been so appreciating the pics of ND and SD...brings back memories of our vacation there last year. Beautiful scenery.

I just came in from a walk-around the property. There are daffodils in the orchard about 4" up out of the ground! Also discovered that a large part of an old apple tree split at the trunk at ground level where three or four trunks had formed over the years. It fell but didn’t land on any other shrubs or trees that I can tell right now. No way will I be able to cut it up with my little reciprocal saw, will have to call in the pros and have them cut and take everything away. It always bloomed so pretty in the Spring. We had crazy wind all evening and over night last night. I'm surprised I didn't see more damage by the sound of it.

I wish I had such a skill. I did learn to crochet as a teenager and made a purple shawl in the shell pattern. Last year I thought I might try taking it up again but quickly realized that I don't have the patience needed, I did make a couple of nice squares that I use under some ceramic pieces I have. :) A couple of years ago I bought some yarn from the alpaca lady that is a vendor at our farmers market. I loved that it came from her animal and it is the natural color of this particular alpaca. Then I sent it to my good friend who is a wonderful knitter and she made a neat hat for me!! I love all the things you guys have made and the admire the skills you have. Oh and I see that I am wearing earrings that my friend made for me as well!
