In middle school I learned crocheting. Mom made me make a beige shall for my god mother. I hated the color. Can't say my skills have progressed much since then. But I did manage to make a bedspread before I gave up. I still get a warm feeling when I see daises.

Since knitting seems to be the theme, I crocheted this afghan 2 winters ago. It's so warm, I've never yet used it!! I guess I should have used a lighter yarn, I used a number 4 which I thought would be good for an afghan.

Hubby loved it when he saw me working on it, he loved the colours and pattern (as do I of course!) It's folded in half.

Arcy, my girlfriend and I made the daisy Afghan. Remember the little loom? Thanks for sharing that.

Working with textiles isn't one of my skills, so today I am sharing this photo of traditional women's clothing that was on display in a museum in Acapulco, Mexico.

I wish I had such a skill. I did learn to crochet as a teenager and made a purple shawl in the shell pattern. Last year I thought I might try taking it up again but quickly realized that I don't have the patience needed, I did make a couple of nice squares that I use under some ceramic pieces I have. :)

A couple of years ago I bought some yarn from the alpaca lady that is a vendor at our farmers market. I loved that it came from her animal and it is the natural color of this particular alpaca. Then I sent it to my good friend who is a wonderful knitter and she made a neat hat for me!!

I love all the things you guys have made and the admire the skills you have.

Oh and I see that I am wearing earrings that my friend made for me as well!

My mom taught me how to knit when I was 10, then later learned how to crochet. I have made lots of baby blankets, sweaters, scarfs, and kids toys, mainly as gifts. Also learned how to embroider, quilt and braid rugs from my mom. Funny thing is I never took a picture of any of the projects I made. It never occurred to me to do so. I don't know why. I wish I had.

Socks: I still have that loom and a few similar larger ones!! Over the years I have done a lot with those tiny flowers.
