remodel help: unused corner tub
Comments (1)Hi guys, We have been planning a bathroom remodel for a while...we got a design and bid for a whole new floor plan and it would cost a fortune...so we want to redo the same floor plan. This bathroom is 10-year old remodel/addition and is a really odd shape. We have to tear out and redo the shower anyway or else we might have just left it. It isn't terrible. Anyway it has a corner jacuzzi tub that we never use. We figured we had to keep it because we couldn't think of anything else to put there...it is the standard corner unit and that is where the windows are. (the windows are a pretty standard height, you can't see out while you are in the tub) Anyone else dealt with this? I figured that there wasn't much I could do...one side shares a pony wall with the shower and the other side has a toilet next to it. Any thoughts? Or do we have to just keep it :) We have had a designer come in, but she moved everything around and that would cost big bucks and would put lots of window in the shower...which doesn't really sound great. Thanks for your thoughts!!...See MoreWhat if a room in a new build is unusable as designed?
Comments (17)teexasgal Tell them I ADORE my combo machines - I'm on my 3rd. This Splendide is around 14 years old and still going. Put a load in before you leave for work -come home and clothes are dry. To bad the bloody thing won't fold them as well. They are great for 2 people - also a front load so they aren't as hard on clothes the way full size washers are. Been the standard in Europe for 25-30 years. Here you see them in boats or RVS or in households of lazy people (grin) You just have to figure out where to set them so you don't overdry clothes. Each brand is a little different. Malber and Splendide are the top brands. I have an Equator (Sears is selling them) and I did like it - easy to get into to fix yourself and swap a water pump but it did only last 5 years. If they would be good with a used Splendide (combo) at 1/2 the cost, they can call these people - the machines have come out of RVS and had little use. Should hold up for another 7-10 years. Lot of RV repair places work on these things. http://rvappliances.visonerv.com/cgi-bin/f/rvwasherdryercombo.pl? Real nice people - everything I have bought from them has always worked. Shipping costs are really low - like maybe $75-150....See MoreKitchen Corner design annoyance! help :)

Comments (2)You have two huge trees that are not symmetrical. Among other things, the right corner is filled with tree. So, I would not recommend a symmetrical plan. If you want symmetrical around the porch, that would work. Further, unless those trees are dead, I don't see how you can have "full to partial sun" on each corner. I'd go with broadleaf evergreens, rhodos, azaleas, kalmias. But, of course, I'm assuming you can't possibly have full sun under those trees....See MoreDawn
