Comments (15)Edna, darling, I've been planning my day tomorrow in my head all night tonight (decipher that). I'm going to beg off the trip to Annie's tomorrow. If I were just getting the potager planted it would have been okay. But today's beautiful rain and the The Great Stink from that compost has set me back this weekend. I have a lot of planting and tilling to do. Imagine my disappointment! I was looking so forward to playing together in our Radio Flyers! But them's the gardening breaks. Here's my booty for the potager tomorrow: 6 Tomatoes (Cherokee Purple, German Striped, Yellow Brandywine, Black Zebra, Super Girl and Roma), 2 sweet peppers, Swiss Chard, Blue Lake beans, and early Dutch cabbage. Comments (13)Today there were 43 gallon-size "Grandmothers Hat" plants at Annie's (all but two very nice looking plants), 5 'Joasine Hanet', roughly 10 'Souvenir de la Malmaison', about a zillion 'Robin Hood' (that one and 'Maid Marion' have just not been selling, it seems -- they have had many, many plants for a long, long time) a good number of 'Golden Celebration', 'Flutterbye', etc. The variety for sale that brought a wry smile to my face was Rosa eglanteria (rubiginosa).
