Comments (6)Carissa, looks like you've got a good start on updating your new house. Can't really tell the color of the roof but it looks like a medium taupe tone might work. I like the idea of the planters to add some depth to the front. If you're interested in seeing some virtual changes to your house take a look at my web site, Creative Visual Concepts. I do mock ups to give you an idea of how your house might look with changes made....See MoreBrick ranch built '59, need exterior look advice
Comments (7)Remove the shutters. I am not a fan of painting brick, especially brick like yours which is attractive. I would focus on the landscaping. Get rid of the pompom bushes. Extend the plantings from the side of the garage to line part of the drive, but add more variety. Plant an ornamental tree out in the yard to frame the entry. Plant a hardwood on the right side of the property. Some plants I would look into are oak leaf and pee gee hydrangea, mountain laurel, red twig dogwood. I like ornamental trees like Eastern Redbud, crabapple, snowbell, Crepe Myrtle....See MoreRanch House Facade Remodel Advice

I talk about Romabio, limewash/masonry, diff color trim, and even board and batten in the gable. I posted a ton of pictures too. here are some other pictures I didn't post on the other link. the dark tones w/black windows look nice. do wood shake in the gable Your landscaping will also come in to play. Remove the overgrown shrubs in the flower beds, redo those, Similar style. this landscaping is beautiful. you don't have to go w/the Tudor style w/this type in the gable. just do a regular vertical board/batten if you like. or the shake. I like the shake w/white brick Jeff Lewis, farmhouse makeover...See MoreJamie Marksberry
