A 24’ ceiling needs to be another room, on the second floor. It is not proportionate to the size of a human being.

I agree that height ceiling is ridiculous in this era of energy saving too. As for the fake beams they always look fake and a wood ceiling with wood floors is like living in a wood box.BTW IMO 10’ ceilings are the max I would ever do since I would rather spend my money on a nice vacation than on heating and cooling a useless space

Beetle kill pine is showing some popularity with some decorating colors tending into blues, or that's what I hear now and then.

Drywall with no fake beams

Thinking Drywall ceiling and with comments on height, maybe incorporate hanging acoustic panels

all of these are fab. just depends on what look you want

the beetle kill (or blue stain pine) might limit you on colors and other choices

it is pretty though.

In looking at your ideabooks, the gray blues in beatle kill with no beams would provide plenty of interest. Then keep wood flooring quiet. Maybe a walnut. Go light walls and black or bronze iron chandeliers and sconces for contrast. Love to see your floor plan.

Some ideas

Wood on the ceiling and wood on the floor can be A LOT of wood. If that makes you happy, then go for it. Just remember: it is pretty easy to change a wood floor to new tastes. It is DIFFICULT and expensive to do the same to a ceiling full of wood.

I think the trick in pulling off wood on ceiling and floor is to make floor tone a couple shades lighter than the ceiling. A darker tone on high ceiling also visually lowers the ceiling. So you have a couple choices.

Just finished this in our master. Looking to emphasize the beam slightly but will have gray carpet on the floors
