Board and batten Wall paint

Hello. we will be doing a board and batten square grid wall in a nursery. I am struggling with the paint colors. My husband thinks the whole grid wall being white may be unappealing. Here is our paint dilemma right now.:

Grid wall- Behr Polar Bear and other walls Behr Swiss Coffee OR

Grid wall- Swiss coffee and other walls Behr Antique White

We are open to other suggestions but would like to keep it neutral. It is a smaller room with only 1 window and I plan to have gold and blush decor. Thanks in advance!

Here are the pictures I have saved for inspiration! The room is a 10.5ft x 11.5ft room with 8ft ceiling. The window will not be on the batten wall. I would post a pic but it is currently a disaster!

love your neutral idea for a nursery and especially the gold and blush accents. wondering if you could share pics of the room in order to give perspective. plus can you explain further the grid concept. are you thinking of applying wood to one wall in squares? just want to clarify. in general I would say either option could work just fine, it may depend on the other furniture pieces you choose. I think a grid in white would work just fine. while the below wall is not in a square grid, it does show the idea of white trim on white wall.

I would consider the boards and wall they surround as part of the trim and paint to match in a satin or semi gloss trim paint. Consider doing a test on the wall to see how paint will cover. And I agree about redoing the vertical pieces. I'm curious about the reason they were spaced like they are.

I would not paint all that brick, which looks great. Have you considered using a charcoal gray for all the siding, including the new portion? It would look great with your roof, and the darker color would minimize the siding. Then paint the door khaki or white.

Full or half wall board and batten?

Okay guys! So we've painted the room aesthetic white (it's night time time just overhead lighting) we will be installing the board and batten on the bed wall and initially was going to go 2/3 up the wall but we realized that it may be too high to hang a small photo above.. 65 inches? So if we go high we won't have anything g above. Our other idea was to go just slightly over half and make a ledge out of the board and batten and put a few photos on it. What do you think? See a few photos of ideas

I think that you should fold down the comforter and then place your pillows on the sheets. As for a blanket at the foot of the bed I would go with something other than white. You need a bit of contrast. Maybe for the pillows that go against the board and batten you can go a bit darker than white so it will pop a bit. I do not mean bold colors, but variations and texture. I love so many of the example photos shown here.

Also, I plan on purchasing a white crib and having an old dresser refinished in blush paint and gold drawers handles.

I would say to help in choosing colors, get samples of them and put them on the walls to see how they look. that should help with a decision.

I would do one colour on all the walls. If white, definitely something that leans warm and soft like the inspo pics,not crisp. Probably would even keep to the same sheen throughout,depends on the flooring and other trim (including closet doors) in the room. Sounds like the space will be absolutely lovely. Congratulations!

not sure what the flooring situation is and it wasn't your initial question, but thought I would share some rugs I thought might work, if you plan on doing an area rug.

I like white on all the walls, test the whites you have listed to see which one you like best.

the rug pics didnt seem to come thru. I will try again here, but I also have a board called 'houzz nursery area rug options' that have the pics as well

Hollybar that is an idea that didn’t cross my mind. I was thinking about doing satin on the grid wall and matte on the rest of the walls. Which sheen would you go with throughout the whole room?

Melissa, in your #1 inspo pic I really like how the board and batten stays flat matte and doesn't reflect like a higher sheen would. Depends how much reflection (as shown clearly in Theresa's cool pic above) and "formality" you want.
