Ok, $50 .... I’d put it towards seeing the Eagles in concert next year. Oh, wait, no I wouldn’t because the great seats I want are over $7,000 EACH. Yes. Seven thousand plus. I’m still in shock over that. I just can’t even.

Ok! I would probably put it towards jeans. I need to refresh my denim wardrobe. I found some high-waisted, flared ones I lurve. Very ‘70s. :)

$50 is probably all some people have to spend for Christmas. At this point in my life, I'd try to see that the money goes to help someone less comfortable in life financially have some joy of the season. It would not mean a lot in my daily life, but it'll mean a lot to someone else.

Knowing Ida from this forum for a while, I suspect she covers charitable giving regularly.

If I had to spend it on myself, I’d use it for something I ordinarily wouldn’t spend $50 on, if that makes sense. For instance, I wouldn’t spend $50 on a pair of winter gloves. I tend to find them at TJ Maxx for maybe $20, because I’m always losing one or both of a pair. But maybe I’d look for a really special pair for $50.

About 10 years ago I won a gift card to Bloomingdales, I think it was for $300. I decided to do something with it that I normally wouldn’t — I spent it all on makeup, with the help of one of the salespeople who helped me try out a bunch of stuff. I had never bought that much makeup all at once before and to this day I remember distinctly how decadent it felt!

Hmm, I think I would go to the local salon and get those purple peek-a-boo highlights that I have not been able to justify the cost of just yet. Fun and completely frivolous, something I rarely dabble in. If I could not bring myself to jump off the deep end and get my hair done, then I would go and purchase a large pot for the garden.

Pudgegr, We have a squirrel proof feeder. It is indeed squirrel proof but imagine our surprise when we watched a deer tilt it sideways to allow the seed to pour into its mouth.

If I was handed 50.00 and told I had to spend it right away, I really would try to find a little kid who is dreaming of a special toy in a toy aisle somewhere. And take that child and his parent (of course) to the check out and buy it for him/her. That would make me happier then a new thing for me.

I looked in my Amazon wish list, and speaking of gloves, this is what I found: Extra Heavy Duty Snake Handling Gloves! I put those in April 2018, and I do not remember why, unless I wanted them for handling cactus and bromeliads - or perhaps for the BBQ. I certainly have no plans to handle poisonous snakes.

Ok, so these are some excellent ideas and are giving me food for thought. Well, except for Eagles tix, which are most assuredly out of my league and then some! It does make me wish I'd seen them back in the 70s when one could do so without having to sell a kidney on the black market though. I mean, they were good back in the day, but prices like those in the shot Jinx shared above just piss me off. No way they're worth THAT kind of dough!

And let's just say that my charitable giving is done for 2019. We regularly support several causes and a couple of individuals, so I hope it's not too selfish, but this $50 is for me. :)

Months ago my mom asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I suggested an organic cotton night gown. She responded, no-- something NICE. I suggested maybe a sail boat.. I couldn't think of anything nicer than a night gown but not in sailboat league.

Yesterday I discovered that I still had a 54.00 balance on an old Amazon card I had. I’ve started to have an interest in bread making so I splurged on a lame and a few other goodies that will come in handy. Things that I would have never normally splurged on. I can’t wait till the box arrives. :c)

As my iPad collapsed just now on my lap yet again, I realized that the ideal use for a found $50 would be a new iPad case/stand. My current one is 3 years old and coming apart on all corners, but I just can’t bring my frugal self to replace something until it is absolutely decrepit and non functional.

Now I'm thinking fondly of my uncle Mike -- he always gave everyone an envelope with cash in it and I used it as my special fun money. Without hesitation, I'd buy myself some acrylic inks! I've never used them but the few pieces I've seen done with them have been incredibly vibrant! I just checked and it looks like I could get at least a half-dozen different 1oz bottles with that $50. It's on my radar now. :)

I may have just found "the thing". I could use a cutting board (after considering those I linked to above), and stumbled across this inlaid piece that speaks strongly to me. I love it.

Last year, my dad had a local custom woodworker make me a beautiful cutting board ... it’s monogrammed with my first name and made up of several different types/colors/grains of wood. It’s a treasure I’ll cherish always! And before that, I didn’t realize how much I’d love a custom cutting board. :)

Well, the extra $50 is now history. I bought the "canyonlands" cutting board, and can't wait to get it. Love that it can act as art displayed in the kitchen when not being put to use, and especially love that it brings to mind so many places in the high desert that have captured my heart. We tend to make entirely too many juvenile jokes about "cutting the cheese" at our house (while, I might add, actually slicing fromage -- not the other thing it refers to), and maybe this pretty piece will compel us to show a bit more decorum. I was thinking “how would I spend $50?” while I was wrapping a new scarf around my neck. Realistically, the answer would be yet another new scarf. Somehow scarves escape my “no more new stuff in this house!” rule.
