Looking for Multi-Age Christmas Craft Project
Comments (6)Hi Blueiris, Welcome to the Holiday forum. Did you see our post on here about the trash bag wreaths? They are really pretty for Christmas if made using the white bags. Your teenager would probably love doing the cutting while Gma and the 4th grader put them on the wire hanger and then all three could add decorations. Let me know if you'd like the link to the tutorial for making them. Then there are lots of free craft sites on the web. Here's one you might want to start with. It has lots of links to more. Hope you all have fun making memories together. ;o) Luvs Here is a link that might be useful: free craft patterns...See MoreIdeas for xmas luncheon placesetting 'crafts'?
Comments (12)Have you seen the "mice" cookies made out of stemmed maraschino cherries dipped in chocolate with Hershey Kiss heads resting on half of an oreo cookie? They are soooo cute and everybody who sees them, raves about them. You take the top off of an Oreo cooke and save the white frosted part to use as the base. Dip a stemmed cherry in melted chocolate and lay on the white frosting with the stem facing backward like the tail of the mouse. Place a dab of chocolate on the base of the Hershey Kiss. Use 2 sliced almonds pressed into the chocolate as ears and press against the cherry. The base of the kiss goes against the cherry with the almonds in between as the ears. Use green frosting gel and place 2 dots on the Kiss as eyes. Place a red hot or cinnamon candy on the center of the white frosting by one side of the mouse and pipe green gel leaves on either side of the red hot. It is just a green squiggle on either side, but it gives the effect of holly. You could also use a dot of red piping gel on the tip of the Kiss as a nose, but it isn't really necessary. When done, the mouse faces sideways with the holly in front! They take some time, but aren't that expensive as the cherries usually come in a jar with a large number of cherries, and probably 3 bags of Oreos would give 100 bases. I always get people raving over them when I make them for my Christmas Open House. TTFN, Candy...See MoreEasy and fast grafting adenium for everyone.
Comments (78)Hi, Marie! So nice to see you. It is always so educational to read your posts. This post is a gem. Love it! I personally don't particularly care for grafted adeniums and have not tried any of the techniques. Horrie, have you tried the split graft where you shave the scion into a V shape and fit it in to the split? I think for this plant that technique would be more successful. It is the same technique we use to graft new branches from an older tree to newer trees so fruit develops quicker. I have grafted gymnocalycium to hylocereus to create my own moon cactus. It's very interesting to learn that you are actually marrying the vascular systems of the two plants. You have to pay very close attention to the joining of the rings in both freshly cut pieces. That's critical point #1. Critical point #2 is taking great care in the wrapping so moisture is not lost and the tissue survives. Keeping the 2 pieces pressed together until they successfully fuse is the final piece of the equation. My very best to you! - Maria Elena...See MoreSuper easy holiday candy/cookie recipes?

Tiger Butter Print Ingredients 1 package ( 24 ounces) white almond bark ½ cup crunchy peanut butter 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips (Milk chocolate will work fine too) Instructions Line a rimmed baking sheet with waxed paper. Set aside In large mixing bowl, break up almond bark as best you can (or you can just toss the whole thing in). Place bowl in microwave for about one minute. Stir well. Microwave at 30-45 second intervals, stirring after each, until bark is melted and smooth. Stir in peanut butter until melted and well blended. Spread out onto waxed paper lined baking pan. Place chocolate chips in a small bowl and microwave at 30-45 second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and melted. Drop dollops of chocolate onto peanut butter mixture in pan. Swirl with a knife. Place baking sheet in refrigerator until hardened or allow to harden completely at room temp. Break into pieces and store in an airtight container....See Morejojoco
