pendant light placement
Comments (2)I sure can! There is a rule of thumb for pendant placement. First, measure the width of your island in inches. In your case, that's 36. Subtract 12 from that number to find an ideal maximum size for the width/diameter of a pendant to go above it. In your case, that's 24. For hanging height, start with 28 to 34 inches above the island. However, make sure to consider the different sight lines of your home's residents to ensure no one is staring directly into the pendant while standing before it. You can space pendants about 2 feet apart over an island, so your island could handle 2 or 3 pendants! Comments (6)Just confirming I understand: 27” from the wall is the first one, and 27” from that is the second one? Will this allow the cabinet door to clear? And then Centered on countertop including the overhang?...See MorePendant light placement
Comments (2)is there a reason to prefer this trapezoid to a rectangle? and, having chosen that, do you really want to emphasize the asymmetry with pendants? if you must, I would use only two: one at the wider end, about 24" in (for head clearance), centered laterally at that point; the second one 24" in from the other end, centered laterally at that point. that will leave about 24" between the two pendants as well....See MorePendant Lighting Placement
Comments (3)I think centering the lights to the hood and sink will look best too. You probably wouldn't even notice the lights being off center with seating/counter but I think you would notice the other way around....See MoreFelipe Seiber
