Need ideas, how to wrap large gift
Comments (20)Check out your local dollar store. I've cut up their shower curtains or disposable plastic tablecloths to use as gift wrap for large gifts. The nice thing about them is that they're tough enough to withstand the odd shapes and won't let them poke through. They also hold up well when your heavy or big package is being pushed along a floor or transported. I either gather the ends together around it, cut off the excess, tie it with a heavy duty rubberband and then finish with a big ribbon bow . . . or I use it like wrapping paper, cutting it to size and using clear package tape on it. I use that same tape to hold on a big bow. Lynn...See MoreDo You Like Getting Gifts Gift-Wrapped or in the Bag
Comments (37)As long as I didn't have to clean up the mess of the shredded paper, I didn't mind wrapped. I kind of enjoyed wrapping gifts. But I do think it's a waste of money and other resources. Better to use the comics or something. You can get creative in wrapping. My sister was the first to start using bags and cheapo that I am, I'd save and reuse them. We'd give the same bag back and forth. Now I use the reusable shopping bags more and more for gift bags. It's an extra gift in itself. As far as what I'd prefer to receive? An envelope. Stuffed with cash. Large denominations. As I've said before, THERE'S a thoughtful gift! You may wrap it in money if you want. Or use cash for the tissue too if you like. Christmas is approaching. Feel free to send anytime. It's cheaper to ship too!...See MoreHow do you wrap gifts?
Comments (17)Does this happen to anyone else? No matter how organized you are or how big your work surface, there's never enough room and you always lose the dang tape and scissors! One year I bought a tape dispenser that fits on your wrist like a bracelet, that worked great. I wonder where it wandered off to? lol I used to wait until I had everything purchased and did them all at once. The prettiest year we ever had I did all the wrappings in variations of green and silver. As I was boxing up gifts to mail, I remember thinking that those were the nicest ones I had ever done. Probably because of the 2 color theme.... I just know that was my best year, wrapping-wise. And I carried it over too, to the dining room, green tablecloth, white and silver china (my mom's set) silver deer candleholders and matching napkin rings. Man, it was pretty. Usually it's a mass of color around here, but that simple combo really worked. It kind of got lost though as people arrived on Christmas morning and stuffed all their colorful packages under the tree, but I enjoyed it up until then....See MoreWHERE do you wrap gifts?
Comments (23)Usually on the ping pong table in the basement, which looks like Jemdandy's! I may just bring all the paper upstairs this year, and put a card table in the bedroom, since someone suggested that. My back and hip won't take sitting on the floor. As I just cleaned my bedroom, I can wrap in there and just move things back and forth from DD's old room, where it's stored. Then, no one has to carry it back upstairs for me Christmas Eve.
