This is a photo made at our old place on Chocolate Bayou. It actually snowed...and on Christmas! I believe it was 2005. It rarely ever showed, and I think less than half a dozen times in my life. I don't like cold weather, but I was very happy for all the children, remembering how excited we would get when the weatherman predicted snow, and it almost never happened, when I was a kid. This, especially nice because it came on Christmas.

No snow here, but I did find these at Flower Fields in Carlsbad, CA, a couple of years ago.

I was driving into the Coachella Valley yesterday from Phoenix and the views were gorgeous. Unfortunately, I couldn't capture them and drive at the same time. I was able to get a glimpse of the same view when I was stopped at a traffic signal. (@Lars, it took me over 3 hours to get home last night from Palm Desert. The traffic was horrendous. Hope you have better luck.)

Fun2BHere - yes the views in the Valley are quite beautiful now, and the weather is warmer now as well. We're not driving back until Tuesday, and so we should avoid traffic that way. We have a lot of work to do at the house still. We hung paintings yesterday (some very large ones) and are installing a new porch light this afternoon.

@Lars, you were smart to schedule a delayed return. Here's another interesting sight from yesterday. I have no idea of the reason for the costumes, but there were several roller skating ornaments on the street. I only took a picture of one, though.
