I need help with my bedroom. I bought a nice light aqua/seafoam green quilt (I'm missing a euro pillow right now) and art (not yet hung) for over the bed. As you can see my furniture is a grey/brown. Is this bedding and art too washed out? What kind of drapes can I do? I was thinking sheer white. and lamps? I'm lost! Thanks in advance

Hi Shanee,

I suggest getting different pillows shams for the row second-to-back, and also the first one. Something in a more saturated green/blue would compliment the seafoam color well. White sheers sounds nice for the windows! It will help soften the space. How about some lamps with clear bases? This one from West Elm would feel light in the space. Good luck!

I agree you don’t need anything above your headboard. Taller lamps are all you need on the bedside tables, let them be statement piece and you don’t need additional art there.

I'd get a large cork board, dry erase board with magnets, or something like that to place above the desk so he can add whatever he likes to it. He can add posters, a large map, or flag to hang on the other walls. He also needs some sort of light near the bed. You can put in a plugin wall mounted sconce between the bed and desk, a small desk lamp on the desk, or a clip on light for the side of the desk if it's not wide enough for a lamp. The corner with the red chair is perfect for a comfy chair. If budget is an issue, you can get great deals on NextDoor or Craigslist.

Hello, I ordered the bed online and it’s much darker than what it seemed like on the pics. I ordered white nightstands and dresser. Curtins will be whitw as well. Lamps are same colors I am so bummed not sure do I return the bed and get a different kind or try to make it work? I would greatly appreciate your feedback.

The previous poster brings up a good point with the height. At first I thought it was just the soffit throwing my eyes off. Possibly you bought a platform bed which usually does not need a box spring. I still would like to see the other walls— you may have more options than you think. I do like the minimalist bedding. I would look into getting bottom-up top-down custom blinds to bring in light from the upper windows instead of blocking all light, regardless if you move the bed or not.

I don’t think I’d do white sheers over the white mini blinds. In fact, I don’t think I’d do sheers of any color over the blinds. You need lamps with some presence to balance the wood furniture, not something clear.
