Ideas for Anniversary gift of a hosta tour--ideas?
Comments (15)LOL, Melati--I WISH!!! We'll probably have to make that direction a whole *nuther plan*--maybe next-year's anniversary! Dave--thank you so much, too!! I'm definitely going to have to have 'a plan'!! Now, tell me this *you guys* with the extensive collections you already have--what in the world do I bring you, that you DO NOT ALREADY HAVE??? I'm getting nervous!!! My 'picken's are such 'small potatoes' compared with anyone you've suggested visiting, including yourselves!! LOL btw--do NOT fear--I would NEVER ask you for a piece of your hosta! I only tease on the forum, with such boldness, (and with those I've already 'traded' with) but in 'real life' I'd be horrified to do that!! Just not the way I wuz brought up--southern roots, ya know--well, maybe you don't but trust me--they're still in 'there'!!! :o) And, if I go over a certain one you have--I AM NOT hinting for you to bring out the shovel, okay? I'm just enthusiastic about ANYTHING I see that I think is awesome, admirable, or beautiful, and for the life-of-me, I cannot refrain from letting my appreciation be known!!! :o/ So--DO NOT--DO NOT let my enthusiasm make you squirm nor compelled to dig up a perfectly beautiful clump, destroying it's symmetry for the rest of the season, JUST to give me a piece of it, cause I'm excited by it's maturity and beauty!!! Seriously--I will, undoubtedly, LOVE them ALL!!! And, I can wait to get whatever it is I may be 'blown away' about, someday--but--I may be taking copious notes, if you don't mind!! ;o)...See MoreGift idea for construction manager
Comments (2)You might consult his boss about a gift.He might know what tools he would like or need or know his hobbies that might give a clue as to what he might like. Some guys might love a new tool or piece of equipment..ie drill, tape measures, construction site radio, cooler or other tool(s). Also a gift certificate to Home Depot or Lowes will allow them to get what they would like as they need. Nice of you to take notice either way. I always suggest donuts and or Pizza on one or two days or a Friday for major crews such as framers, roofers, trim carpenters, stone crews etc. The good will can go a long way when you need a little extra work done here or there and its just plain nice to do....See MoreGift Ideas for Cooking Enthusiast??
Comments (13)ooohhhh some great ideas - thank you! He loves getting 'prizes', the family euphemism for little presents, so that's the only reason I want things instead of a gift card. We gave him some cash for a trip to San Francisco - a special good-bye with his girlfriend before he moves :( they left this morning. And I'm SURE he's going to scout out food/kitchen stores there! sueb20 - great idea! I just signed him up to get the King Arthur catalog and I forgot all about Penzy's - doh! stinky he IS quite a guy, thanks! He's grown into a man of character and heart and is a really likable, interesting person. jterrilynn I love that idea and you're so right about what space hogs colanders are. I'm sure he has at least one colander already but it was probably bought used and this will be a nice upgrade for him. lizbeth-gardener I had to laugh because he HAS an instant read thermometer, a microplane, an immersion blender, a salad spinner...... he REALLY likes to cook! But I bet he doesn't have a scale and probably doesn't have a timer so those are perfect. Baking in the desert in CA is going to be very different than baking in a high altitude rain forest in WA - he'll have to measure/weigh carefully and be on his toes with timing! alisande he actually has that same immersion blender - I had no idea they came in colors!...See More"Experience" Gifts
Comments (3)Several years ago we bought season passes for a near by children's dinner theatre as gifts for our 3 grandchildren. My husband wasn't too keen on the deal, but the outings were such a special time for all of us! "Theatre" has become a tradition since then and we all look forward to the next production (and an ice cream stop on the way home!) Only problem. . .We now have 3 young additions to our family and I'm thinking car seating will be tight in the future years! (Such happy "problems"!!)...See Morelyfia
