how do you suppose they made these bricks look this way?
Comments (7)"there has to be some sort of process so that it's durable." Then I'll have to say that you don't know that many designers! :P The vast majority that I went to school with and do business with on a daily basis do not have a clue as to the consequences of a design decision. They decide on doing something completely impractical just because it's pretty rather than the right choice. I'm redoing the bathroom of a victim of that right now. Her designer had her choosing a limestone shower and a super matte finish on the custom vanity. Neither one lasted 5 years without looking a hundred years old. Designer world is often very very different than real world....See MoreWhat do you suppose this glass was intended for?
Comments (11)Yes, good detective work, Arkansas Girl--that's it exactly! The description says you can use it for any drink of dessert. Moonie I have a recipe for a chocolate dessert made with ricotta cheese, chocolate, and Kahlua, but I think I'll want to serve it in smaller portions. :-) Rusty, you came close with those glasses! In fact, I own several of those pictured. I use them at Christmas with flameless tea lights inside. Thanks, everyone!...See MoreCrafty people: how can I make a wreath like this?
Comments (12)Very pretty wreaths, especially the one with stars! I used to grow asparagus fern many years ago when I lived in Florida. They need a higher humidity to grow elsewhere, though, from my experience. I think even dried, it would not last long on a wreath. Personally, if I were making it (and I may come Spring), I would use a grapevine wreath and cuttings off a good quality artificial asparagus fern....See MoreWhat do You Suppose that Skybird ..
Comments (11)Gardebweb/Houzz has been somewhat challenging with the half dozen years of changes that have occurred. It would not surprise me if there were strong reasons for many of the changes that took place that have to do with maintaining server function - something that I know nothing about. The changes also have included attrition of members. That's completely understandable if we have any experience within this social media realm. Still, it is surprising when changes happen. It takes some adjusting, even on the emotional side of life. Early winter has always been a slow season on RMG. It won't be the gardening off-season in just a few days, here at home and for Steve's digits. The house plants have been here right along. Potted outdoor perennials have been crammed in one corner of the greenhouse and covered with a tarp, against the cold. They will be joined by a flat or two of soil and onion seed, soon. Seeds and seedlings to also protect from the cold in that unheated greenhouse. In another few weeks, the pepper seed will be sown. Tomato, eggplant ... seedlings will fill the window in the South Room and they will be demanding room and a place in a Heated Greenhouse by mid-March. And, time flies ... Steve...See MoreUser
