A big vote for a basic gray to be used throughout the whole area -- THEN add your orange accents in fabrics, artworks, rugs etc. In time -- and perhaps according to the seasons -- you MIGHT want to switch accent colors -- and this way -- it is easier to do .... Also -- perhaps consider waiting until you can find an inspiration piece -- like an area rug or artwork -- and THEN match the color and shade of gray -- MUCH easier to do in that order! :) For example check out BM Willowcreek #1468 -- a medium (but still fairly light warm gray) .... Hope you don't mind some thoughts!

Beautiful rooms and paint color, minuscule. I will have a look at BM Silver Mist. I like the Accessible Beige but Dear Husband does not. He says it looks dirty. It exactly matches some of the tones in the flooring and is nearly identical to the fireplace surround, and extremely close to the couch color, which would make the couches sort of disappear and an accent wall color for the fireplace wall necessary. SW Accessible Beige on top, SW Creamy on the bottom. SW Creamy is really yellow. Too yellow. Such a tall wall. Was thinking about adding some trim like this (not in Georgian style because mine is not a Georgian style house) to break up the blankness a bit. I will look at BM Silver Mist and for something slightly lighter than Healing Aloe. Dear Husband liked the look of BM Constellation

Great, Sally. Hope we didn't overwhelm you with too much information. Most of us do go for a holistic approach to space since no single element exists in a room by itself; they connect through layout, style, finishes, palettes. Sometimes the "problem child" isn't the actual problem, or the only problem, and getting a bunch of alternative suggestions can be useful. Your room is lovely as is, frankly. If you are getting wood flooring, that will definitely modernize the room without your doing anything else. Feel free to post again with all the details at the outset--i.e. not loving the paint, getting wood floors, etc.--then people won't chime in with too much information. Good luck with your new home. Hello so we have a open living room, dining room and kitchen with wood floor we trying to get the transition on the color on the walls with the rest of our living space so we’re not changing anything else the furniture stays the color in the kitchen floor everything stays good just need to create a warm and cozy transition to the whole living area thank you Adriana
