Farewell, til Spring, Augusta Luise
Comments (19)Thank you all so much. I've already mentioned to Clare the nice comments she received for her art, which was actually was supposed to appear at the bottom of my post. The art was done completely on her computer drawing tablet. In high school she wore her first tablet out, so I gave her a bigger one for HS graduation. I think she will go into some kind of computer animation field, if possible. Her computer skills are formidable (a little bragging there). But she did give me an AL watercolor of the rose only last year. To answer your questions--my AL is grafted on multiflora. I purchased her the last year Hortico sold her. It took three years for her scent to mature, and this year it was astounding with wonderful wafting from just one bloom in a bouquet. Hans, your AL is so lovely, and I know she'll flourish in your wonderful garden. Diane Here are a few more AL pics:...See MoreAugusta Luise in PNW?

Comments (17)So gorgeous, Ann. My ordering experience was also 3 crashes during the process. Thank you, Diane, for introducing us to this rose. She's my favorite rose of all time. Mine took off surprisingly well in growth for this zone. My season is short, so she didn't have a whole lot of time to produce a lot of blooms. 2020 will be her year. I would like to see companion roses and perennials she has been paired with. Mine is planted with Poseidon and Blue Paradise phlox....See MoreCrazy love and Augusta Luise
Comments (34)They are sweet, they have to hear me drone on and on about the garden which I know they don't care for lol but at least they paid attention to the plants I've been talking about a lot lately haha. My son was especially eager to buy a gift for me which I think is just heart-melting. He's 7 and my wild one so he doesn't always remember to be appreciative, but today he was so sweet whispering to my husband about getting me the gift 😭 and it's good that they each picked one out, now I've got one for each of them to remember for many years (hopefully), if I'm lucky maybe they'll be incredible mature clems one day when my kids are grown, and they will help me feel close to them still. My son picked "Comtesse de Bouchad" and my daughter picked "Asao". @Kristine LeGault 8a pnw...See Morebayarea_girl_z10a_ca
