Some Mini's & Some ID help
Comments (6)Jo why didn't I know you when I lived in North York, Ontario! Gah! Thanks Babka I am going back and fourth with them trying to figure it out. Since it was free can't really complain. :) I probably wouldn't complain even if I paid for it, I love it. Perhaps as it matures it will be easier to id. We ended up getting into a conversation about getting old blanking out and going into robot mode. :) A place I visit more often than I'd care to admit. Comments (1)You're doing perfect, as far as I'm concerned. Give them a good week or three in the greenhouse until your temps are stable in the 70's and then pull them out into the shade for a few days before moving them into the sun. As long as they have green canes, you'll probably see them just burst back to life. Once they are happy and healthy again, plant them just like a larger rose. Don't expect them to stay small. Miniature refers only to bloom size. The plants can range from 12" to 3-4' in height, based on my experiences with 'grocery store minis', that is to say the Parade roses or the like that don't have individual names. If these have names, you will want to look up the varieties on HelpMeFind.com or ask here about them specifically, to get an idea of how large they get. I have some perfectly beautiful 3'x3' minis that were un-named varieties. I have one that gets to 2' wide and about 4' high before I whack it back down to 1.5' again. Others have stayed about 1.5' x 1.5'. Suz...See MoreSome impressive mini'''s
Comments (8)Thanks for the compliments all. I will try to answer your questions in order here. MICHELLE I planted my Leading Lady bushes in April after receiving them from Dennis Bridges in band pots. And yes, they are both 4' tall and bloom like crazy with floribunda sized blooms. They are never without blooms as they repeat flower super quickly. I love them. MDSEAGULL I have two TITD bushes and they have a definite bushy growth habit, with very little uprightness to them. Still, I get decent stems and of course the foliage is beautiful and make an excellent backdrop for the brick colored blooms of which there are aplenty. Each bush is about 2 1/2' tall and about as wide. These are new to me this year, so I can't say yet whether it will eventually put out some nice big basals or will just stay shrubby looking as some do. Either way, this rose is a winner. RENEYDA I am photo challenged unfortunately and have had no luck posting pictures, but I will try to do it if possible. GARDENFANATIC I live in St. Joseph, MO so I am probably closer to you than we realize. Where are you from?? My Leading Lady bushes have huge flowers that always open with pink edging on a white bloom that will fade out as the blooms age and if it gets really hot. Upon finishing, they are mostly about pure white. I really like this cultivar alot even if it is a big one!! John...See MoreStonescape Blue Tahoe Mini vs. Pebblesheen and some questions
Comments (0)Been doing a lot of reading and learning. I am located in Austin and I am in the process of building a pool and have decided to go with a Stonescape mini interior. Our builder offered Stonescape mini and PebbleSheen mini. They had a pool on site that had PebbleSheen mini in Blue Granite and we really enjoyed the look of the pool. He told us that the Blue Tahoe is the same color through Stonescape. In looking at the samples they do look very similar. I wanted some opinions on this and thoughts from the forum. The other question that I had was in regard to the color of the water with the Stonescape Blue Tahoe mini. I really do not want any "green" look to the water. It appears that this does not have any, but wanted to get some thoughts on this as well. I am also curious to see what this color looks like at night with a light on in the pool. I am just going with a standard 400W light at the deep end of the pool. So if anyone has and pictures that would be great....See Morebayarea_girl_z10a_ca
