Where Should I Place the Pergola???
Comments (12)Hi, Yardvaak, thanks for the reply. The reason why we left the 2 maple trees alone is because we try not to kill any trees as possible (no offense to anyone who does remove any tree for any reason). We are not going to remove them at this point either to make the landscape better or for the pergola. I agree with you to have a pergola in the backyard, and I actually was thinking of it before I posted here. However, the conditions of our backyard and the front-yard are very similar regarding having a pergola at a remote location. That's why I posted about the front yard, due to the grassy area being open. Despite of that, I would appreciate any suggestions for placing the pergola in the backyard though. As long as there is a better place to situate the pergola which blends with the landscape well, I will respect and be grateful for them. I forgot the take the picture for the left side backyard. Please ignore the 3 cans in the middle yard, which are my husband's practicing target for his BB gun (laughter track...), and the black hose on the right side in the backyard. Thanks Left side of the house: Right side of the house: Backyard from the right side: Backyard from the middle:...See MoreWhere should I place lighting in my kitchen?
Comments (8)My kitchen addition is 12x12 square. The peninsula overhang where people will sit is in the "old" section with 8 foot ceilings. I have two Hudson Valley Pendants with diffusers on the bottom, so it isn't harsh light. My electrician had me stand there while he measured just above my eye level, so when seated, the lights are also out of my line-of-sight. Here are my pendants Haverhill in polished nickel. My kitchen is still under construction, so this isn't a great photo, but you can see how they look from an 8' ceiling. The new section has 9' ceilings. There are recessed cans in each corner, in front of the fridge, over the window. The overhead light is the Hudson Valley Waterloo semi-flush. The kitchen is very bright in all task areas -- and all the lights are on dimmers....See MoreWhere should kitchen knobs be placed?
Comments (10)It's good. normally they make them even w/the trim piece on the bottom. If you ever decide to change to handles, you'll only have to make a top hole. your cabs are very tall. handles would eat up some of that space for a more proportional look....See Morewhere should I place dining table & sofas
Comments (3)@dlly9660 If you'd like an informal dining setting, we suggest you keep it close to the kitchen. By placing a dining table against those columns, you could camouflage them or you consider boarding up the space between the columns. The other side of those columns can be covered by a large bookcase. The area beyond the columns can be used as a formal or informal seating area. We've made you another layout with a more formal dining area here. You can also add or replace furniture and move them around to create your own layouts in interactive 3D designs here and also render your own photo-realistic images!...See Morekloikith
