Advice on this Ethan Allen bedroom set?
Comments (5)Agree. I have an old EA sleigh bed in my house that has been around since probably before I was born. I also just bought virtually the same bed on clearance from EA except in a different color. The old 1980's one just seems heavier and better made (I only bought the new one b/c I liked the look and it was on clearance). Very sad because I really like the old quality Ethan Allen furniture and now I'll only buy the older pieces at estate sales. I do have to say that the delivery/installation people were extremely nice though. They helped us take the old bed apart and took it upstairs to one of our spare rooms and they were very careful and cautious in the house to be respectful of our things....See MoreBuying first bedroom suite- advice needed
Comments (25)posting a pic of the room below - pretty much I'm starting with a blank slate- the only "decor" is a pic of my kid on the wall and pics she colored which can just move to another room. :) That shows a queen bed but I have a split king adjustable now (the one thing that I don't want removed). The adjustable bed is why I was thinking a foodboard- to cover up if the foot is left raised a bit carpet- I feel like is neutral enough and I honestly like carpet in a bedroom so prefer to leave it. I like a pretty rug but not sure about putting one on top of carpet Theres a dresser (painted brown, I'll prob paint white or gray) on the opposite wall of the bed (about 6ft from the foot of the bed). There's another window (same size) a few inches from the centered picture on the wall, then there's about 5" of wall space past the window. The entrance door is opposite the window that you can't see in the picture (where pic is taken from) and the door to the bathroom is beside the ottoman. (chair can be removed too). Theres room between the two doors, between the windows, where the chair is or beside the window shown for a chest of drawers but I don't have/need one right now so I'm fine with just having the bed, dresser and two night stands....See MoreI need help setting up my master bedroom!
Comments (4)I think getting another identical dresser is a great solution. But I'd really like to know what door is the entrance, the bath and closet before giving an opinion on layout since it may be different knowing that. You should get bedside lamps both sides though no matter what. Your pictures show 3 walls what's on the fourth?...See MoreMix or match bedroom furniture?
Comments (2)It kind of depends on the furniture brand/line as to whether or not it looks bleh. In general, I can’t stand bedroom “suites” or sets. HOWEVER, there are some high-end makers who do a really good job of it. Obviously a $1,999 five-piece bedroom set from Rooms To Go or Ashley isn’t going to fall into the “really good job of it” category....See Moredonnatrus
