Thanks for all the great advice! Based on the suggestions, I will be shopping for artwork, or at least large frames (could print something) and will experiment with sizes and sets of two or three. I love the inspiration picture, and really like the unmatched pictures. I ordered new end tables. Will probably wait until they arrive and then look for new lamps. I wish I could put a table behind the couch, but there is not enough room. Where would I put a torchiere lamp? We recently bought cordless shades, and took down the valances, and haven't put anything back up, but I will definitely start looking for something soon. . I am so glad I posted this. I have been lurking, but nervous about posting because there are so many beautiful homes and I know nothing about décor, and am constrained by budget and infant/toddler-friendly choices. Again, I appreciate the advice!

Lovely impressionistic painting, and I think it would look great over your couch! Don't worry about leather vs. impressionist style.....it's what you like that matters. It will look fine!

Yes, the toys were definitely be moved to one room and this will be a formal sitting area. @decoenthusiaste There will be no TV in living room. The front door is right where you see the stairs. Basically as soon as you enter the front door, you turn right, take the two steps and you will meet my grey sectional. I am a but hesitant to move the couch in the middle fearing that it will make the space look crowded. But I should surely give it a shot. If I move it away from the corner, should I still keep it against the wall on the left? Or totally in the middle so it is not touching any wall?

Not every wall needs to be decorated. You could easily put a large tall plant in the corner next to the window. Home Depot usually has good ones for not too much. Any of these would work well. Every room needs a plant. They're great space fillers without looking contrived. They really cozy up a room.
