Finding "historic" subway tile
Comments (16)mtnrdredux. I know you like the reclaimed stuff also. Have you visited Recycling the Past? I found their site when looking for small reclaimed subway tile. They seem to always have a very large selection. They are in NJ. Hubby and I have been meaning to take a drive up there, even though it would mean about 3 hours for us. Their website isn't fabulous, but you can see lots of different tile there. Most pulled from around fireplaces I believe. Comments (52)Hi- This is Rebecca co-owner and designer of modwalls. Thank you for ordering samples from us. I agree that our latest dye lot of Lush 3x6 glass subway tile in Cloud is a bit on the green side. We will have a brighter white version of Cloud using clear glass in stock in Mid August. I would also suggest you consider a warm grey tone for your backsplash. We have our Lush tile in Fog Bank in a 1x2 small subway set with a classic offset joint on mesh sheets in stock. I have attached a photo of it installed in the Sunset Magazine Idea House last year with white cabinets. We will also have this color in stock in mid August in a 3x6 subway and a 1x4 skinny subway tile. If you can wait until then I'll be happy to get you free samples of these styles. Just email me at rebecca@modwalls.com I concur with many other comments here. Your stunning countertop should be your kitchen's focal point so I'd suggest either a white or warm gray backsplash tile. Comments (115)i think you can see from that photoshop that something dominatily white is the way to go, lets your chandy still be the eye candy in that room, and i still think a little sparkle fits your kitchen bee.....those hex might just fit the bill! i guess i was thinking of pips kitchen....her bs seems to have just a little sparkle to it, but if i remember correctly, she said its not that sparkly in person? you are on the right track, and like others have said, you have great taste. trust yourself!...See MoreBorder or no border with a ceramic subway tile back splash?
Comments (33)If you are selling I think a border has a lot more chance of feedback than no border. Meaning, if the bs was just subway, then there probably won't be comments like "I wish there was a border" because they don't know what they are missing, but if there is a border and potential buyers might say " I don't like the border". Buyers are quite picky and insane these days. Been there, done that. If you think you aren't selling, then by all means do what you like. Life is too short to just be designing your home for a potential possibility you might sell it. No matter what, it will look clean, current, and fresh. And those are always good....See Moreclarrie11
