I agree, there should be something interesting on that stucco above the garage, but, the thing that bothers me the most is the blah front door. A nice brighter color would do a lot. The landscaping is just blah. No color nothing interesting. No pots with colorful flowers around the front entry. just nothing much at all. It is a very cute house, and could be beautiful, but, right now, it actually looks unfinished.

I'm not a decorator, and of course everyone's taste is different, but I have to say that IMO the best thing you can do with that entryway is demolish it.

I don't say that lightly. I'm not generally in favor of major changes to a house's design. I think that architects usually know what they're doing, and we ought to respect their creations. But this entryway might be an exception.

To me, it seems out of proportion and stylistically incompatible with the house, like a tornado lifted it from somebody's feature-encrusted mcmansion and dropped it there. It breaks up the house's sense of width and sweep, so the house looks awkward and cramped.

I'm trying to think of a painting strategy or something that would minimize it, and I can't come up with anything. Maybe someone else can.

One thing I would do, though, is shut off that light. Rip out the switch. It really calls attention to the entryway, and not in a good way.

I don't mean to offend anyone with this comment. Houses are all about personal taste, and there are lots of people who I'm sure will disagree with me. There are no right and wrong answers to these questions, only those that make you happy with the house you live in.

A different color on the trim & front door would help immensely. And I mean 'color'. The all-neutral colors are a bit boring.

Maybe just a different color. I'm not a expert at all but maybe a darker color on stucco. The small window on the higher roof bothers me because it's not centered, maybe a darker color would make it less noticable. Maybe some type of lighting on either side of entryway.

Google stucco and stone house colors to see if other colors for house you like.

I kind of like the green but not sure if it would work on your house.

could you extend the stone up all the way on the entry area - or maybe even the whole front area except area above garage? Add some windows above the garage?

@DavidR I appreciate the feedback. We are in the process of making a custom wrought iron door that will bring some kind of design to the entryway. I wish we could restructure the front, but HOA likely would not approve. @Izzy Mn thank you, I'll take a look.

Thank you for the thank you. I had another thought. I would have the garage door color closer to the stucco color (or pick a lighter color from stone work) whether you keep the stucco color or change it. It just stands out too much being so much darker than the rest of the house.

Custom wrought iron sounds nice. I would paint the front door a lighter color so wrought iron door can be appreciated.
