jejvtr: I like the first link you showed, but the second one did not work. You are right the columns look similar. Perhaps you should leave them afterall, they are growing on me. It has a certain delicacy with the arched roof and you may change you mind also once the trim is painted different than the house color. Which is probably another reason my vote is for a non-white base color--to accentuate your lovely trimwork. I'm glad you are looking at other homes similar to yours for inspiration. When we were remodeling last year, I always kept a digital camera in my car and I would snap pics of features/colors/etc of houses I liked--usually while picking up or dropping off my kids from school or sports practices. I would try to drive a bit in the residential areas. Then when we were finalizing paint, I had my paint swatches with me and I would go up to houses which I liked and compare paint swatches. Once you and your DH find an inspiration pic I think this is helpful to narrow down to an actual color. You will always see things we don't, like lighting and how it works from various angles. What does DH think? Still white/red?

Sorry I can't help you with the Photoshop but I really like your house! Personally,I think the stone would look great on the bump out as well as the lower portion of the whole house.I don't think it would be overkill with your landscaping at all.Stone is so popular now.I'm seeing it everywhere,even used with brick.

There are some stucco homes in our neighborhood that remind me of yours (but we are very landlocked, coastal/beachy is at least 2 hours away). It is neat to see this style home in another location! I agree w/the others that changing the landscape will make the biggest impact. Pink seems like it would be a nice option, or maybe a coral (since your neighbor has an aqua home). But if you are choosing between paint OR landscape, I'd pick landscape. Then, depending on what colors end up in your landscape, you might have an easier time choosing a color for your home :-)

The house isn't bad at all. It is the landscaping that is trouble. As is often the case, a couple of trees would help. Since the house is low, small flowering trees would work. Keep the plantings low on the right side of the house, but expand the bed out past the porch. We can't really see what is going on at the left side to know what areas are bed and what is hardscaping. Be extremely careful with color if you can't resist the idea of paint. Right now, the various parts of the house - the brick, the roof, and the siding - go together. I don't know how many houses have been posted here since the Landscape Design forum was merged into Houzz that started out with perfectly reasonable 1960s, 1970s color schemes but now are badly in need of fixing because the omnipresent beige siding of the 1990's never went with the brick.
