Cambria Brittanicca Counter Advice!

We are building a new home and I love the Brittanicca Warm Quartz from Cambria. However, we cannot afford to do all of our counters in the Brittanicca because it is in the 'luxury' series, which is outside of our budget. So, I was thinking of doing the Brittanicca on the island and doing a coordinating quartz counter on the other surfaces. Does anyone know of a good coordinating color to go with Brittanicca Warm

I’ve seen Brittanica with a dark gray perimeter many times. Usually someone will chime in with the exact one but they don’t have many. Can you go to a shop that displays it and take a look? You don’t want to go sight unseen...

Rethink this please. Your checkbook balance will fluctuate, your kitchen countertops will not. Get cheaper window treatments. You can afford the Cambria, you cannot afford regret.

Just to clarify, we are planning on doing Cambria throughout. However, the Brittanicca is considered a "luxury series" and is significantly more than other Cambria counters. Therefore, I was wondering if there was a coordinating color that would look good with the Brittanicca.

@SaraDixon- if you are having a person that works FOR Cambria coming, it means two things. #1- your stone was sold to you (and perhaps fabricated) by a certified Cambria dealer. and #2- you'll be in great hands. We've sold Cambria for many years and have had one maybe two small issues (a spec of wrong color in the stone). Not only were the issues handled timely (even during a holiday), each customer was thoroughly impressed and satisfied. Cambria personnel is expertly trained and stand 100% behind their product. You also have to understand that Cambria is the manufacture of material. There are other elements at play here- like the fabricator/installer/designer. I wish you the best of luck with your issue Sara! But if Cambria is coming, you don't need it. As for potential Cambria customers, you should all know that since September 2018 they now have a LIFETIME Warranty. This is a warranty that can be passed down to new homeowners if you ever sell your house and the warranty covers any sort of bill that may be inquired during the warranty process (plumber, contractor etc) You can read more about this warranty here: https://www.cambriausa.com/customer-care/warranty/ No other quartz company has a warranty like this. We have sold and do sell other quartz manufacturers, but Cambria no doubt is the best (not only because it is made in the USA, and because of their phenominal warranty) but because of what you get for the money. You'll spend more on Silestone, Zodiaq and Ceasarstone and you won't have the same color options, or even quality in some cases, for the price.

Did you ever get a response? What did you end up doing? The MSI Q have some great alternative options, but if it’s the flowy design waves of the Cambria that your wife loves (as I do too) I’m afraid I haven’t found anything to compete. The look of the MSI’s are all a bit different.

Thanks for asking Kerrica. With the pandemic, we have been in limbo. Our bathroom is torn apart, prepped and ready to go as soon as things open up. We've decided to go with Taj Mahal quartzite for the counters and a "wood" porcelain tile for the floor. We want to extend the floor tile into the shower with a linear drain. I have to agree with others that, if we go with a natural stone for the counters we should go with a natural stone in the shower, However, I'm having a hard time finding something that goes well with the Taj. We're thinking of using large tiles to avoid too much grout. Slabs for the shower seem too expensive and have too many installation problems. Any suggestions on shower tile would be most appreciated! We are open to other flooring options if it would go better with the shower tile.

What Cambria countertop would you pair with kitchen?

I am really struggling with using Colton with white shaker cabinets. We have a 8'x5' island and an L-shaped kitchen and I wanted some interest and movement. I also like the brown tones with gray in the Colton. Will the Colton look too blah or disclored with the white cabinents? I also struggle between using a white subway tile or champayne color subway tile for a backsplash. Any opinions?

We have stained hickory cabinets (medium brown) and floor color is undecided but it will be wood as well. I would like a warm white subway tile backsplash

Maybe one of the plainer designs? White Cliff, Newport, Dovedale? Kirksted?

You can play around with their "DragonVision" side-by-side comparison to get some starting ideas, but you're going to have to go to a dealer and see samples in person... Bring a door of your cabinet if possible

My client is going with the Blackpool Matte Cambria, but I do believe it's a Luxury color as well. It's a pretty stunning matte black, for those who haven't seen it yet.

Coastal, what you should do is start your own thread, so that more people can see it, instead of taking over someone else's thread and fishing for comments. You would get a lot more people helping you to address your issue, and perhaps even Cambria would help you.

Start your own thread, explain the situation clearly, explain what you have done to try to remedy the situation and what the companies that you have a contract with have done or said in response to your complaints. Show pictures. Show well-lit photos of what you thought you were getting, compared to what you actually got.

Give folks a chance to actually HELP you, instead of just venting. There are instances where, with help from pros and regulars in these forums, that companies have replaced countertops. Let's see what you got.
