Just a house I have loved because of it's location. I have no idea who lives there.

This is what they see below their perch high above the Allegheny River. Fall color yet to come this year, but no matter the time of year, the view must be beautiful at best.

lgmd_gaz - where were your photos taken? It is a spectacular view. DH and I are planning our fall leaf peeping trip across PA now. We're near Philly so we'll head north to our vacation home in Pike County, then drive across scenic Route 6 to visit friends in Coudersport and then meander south towards Pittsburgh to visit family. I keep checking the websites to keep an eye of when and where fall color is expecting to peak.

Gold Rush country.

marie_cate, that is called Brady's Bend Overlook. It is on Route 68, east of the town of East Brady. Google Brady's Bend and you will find lots of entries.

I assume that since you are traveling Route 6, that you will be stopping by the Kinzua Bridge State Park. We have been going there since long before it became a State Park. My brother who lives nearby took us there to hike in the early 1960's. The fall color scene from the viaduct never fails to awe the visitor.

Marie_cate, another thought for a colorful, interesting visit would be McConnells Mill State Park. It would be an easy side trip from Route 79. Just off Route 422, you will see rugged terrain along the well maintained paved road through the park. Hiking is a really big deal in this park.

I should have lightened, and cropped the picture... but somehow never did. Dave, from where I had stayed in Canada told me about "his cabin", and I ended up seeing it on my way south. Nope, not really his cabin, just one he saw and loved.

lgmd, you certainly live in one of the most beautiful parts of our country. It was such a pleasure to meet you when I was with Nita. Can you believe that was 8 years ago this month???

Murraysmom, yes, how time flies. It was a most enjoyable time! Here we are, so happy getting to know our Kitchen Table friends in person.

lgmd_gaz - I know where Brady's Bend is, my brother stores his boats in the old limestone mine near there. We haven't been to the Kinzua area in many years, I'll add it to my wishlist of places to stop - which keeps getting longer.
