Hello, I would definitely move it to the left corner. There is a 'kitchen treangle' for best kitchen layout, we always try to keep it in mind planning kitchens (fridge-sink-own). In a way you have it now there us a long path and island obstacle from the fridge to the sink. Once you put it in the left top corner the kitchen treangle is still not working in way it should, but this way you have your movements in the left part of the island (saving your time) . For the large pantry will you have countertop appliances and the ensuing "activities" happening...breadmaker/blender/crock pot...etc/ or just storage.....a small sink....undercounter fridge....etc ???.....helps to know the frequency and reasons for in/out of the pantry, I would have put sink on island, range and hood on back outside wall for venting and fridge on the left wall. I am not feeling the fridge in the corner is all that wise. Can the door to the pantry be negotiated? If so.....go back to your L and island : think more about sink, range, and stove placements. perhaps in the pantry a small sink could be installed if it is a secondary "work " or [task] area.

Is this new construction? A floor plan with doors and windows would allow the layout folks on here to give you ideas. You have very little space on either side of your range and it looks like it may be in a major traffic path. I would take care of that first before deciding on the refrigerator placement. Sometimes it makes more sense to use tall pantry cabinets instead of a walk-in so that you can get more useable space around your major appliances. In other words, eliminate the walk in for a bigger kitchen.

I think I'm reading the image different than Torigi - that's the ref to the right of the sink and very close to it, yes? I don't see the island as a barrier from the ref to the sink. Right now you have the right "ice water stone fire" path., but I'm not keen on the location of the pantry door. If you keep the ref there, you can have a paneled surround so that the side facing the dining area is nice. Can you move it farther to the right to get more counter between ref and sink?

As wilson mentions, please post a bigger view of the plan (surrounding rooms) with all windows and dimensions shown so the layout folks can help. I'm not a pro, but I'm thinking the pantry door can be in a better position so it doesn't interrupt your counter - either move it to below the range in your picture, or can you move it to that hallway below the pantry? Also consider how you will vent the cooktop - right now the vent has to go past the pantry door and maybe kind of far?

Hello everyone, Thanks for the comments. I understand that putting the sink on the island makes sense, however, our preference is use the island more as a large workspace and eating area. So, we would like to keep the sink off the island. The "back" wall (behind the sink) is shared with the garage. We were planning on adding an additional set of cabinets in the pantry along this "back" wall for storing larger appliances that we use (e.g., instant pot, air fryer, etc). This would keep the counter space around the cook top free. To the left of the long (leftmost) wall of the pantry, there is a small office. The pantry wall near the "bottom" of the print is a wall is shared with a 5 foot wide hallway. The stairs going up to the second floor and down to the basement are located across the hallways from the pantry wall. The kitchen is open to a living room area with windows "below" the kitchen and small breakfast nook with widows to the "right". So, the kitchen is located in the central portion of the house, with no windows on either wall. Hope this helps.

There’s almost 50 square feet of empty space in your pantry. Make it 12-15” less deep.

Do not put the fridge in the corner between the sink and stove. Keep it where it is. Put dishwasher between it and sink. Move entrance to pantry so you can have an L shape counter.

If you show more of the floorplan it would help.
