Trying to fix my mistakes, please help
Comments (2)Look at what we did in our front yard. It was all grass with an aggregate area at the sidewalk to the curb. Our dd was four months old when we got our house., She's now almost 13, and our ds is almost 11. We still have a lawn area in the back yard that's fine for the kids, they climb in the tree all the time in the front along the sidewalk. We recently planted three evergreen pear trees on on side yard we've turned into a Secret Garden for the children, to create some shade canopy. We are going to plant couple of trees good the climb in on the back lawn, still figuring just what (probably apples). I'd wanted to do this for some time, DH just recently came around to the idea. We got tired of the cookie cutter front lawn look that so many people have out here. We're probably thought of as landscaping radicals in the neighborhood (hey, our house is periwinkle blue too!), but we look how it looks now, its truly US as family! We get lots of compliments on the changes we have made over the years. To see pics of our recent landscaping projects including the Secret Garden, and Roses we grow, ck out my Picture Trail: careytearose Here is a link that might be useful: look at Landscaping Projects, Favourite ROSES We Grow albums...See MoreHELP, complete rookie grower, starting to grow aloe vera
Comments (23)Thanks very much everybody for the input! After I unpacked the Aloe's when they arrived they weren't in the greatest shape, I had to wait another few days before I could replant and by that time some leaves had to go, and others were blotchy and unhealthy looking! I eventually repotted them and set them in their new place, and waited about 5-6 days before I watered them, still looking unhealthy and fatigued! About a week or so has passed and the leaves are fighting back! The blotchy parts of the leaves are bbeing filled with smooth gel and the floppy hanging leaves are beginning to look strong again! They just needed a good drink! Just to check, how often do should I water roughly? I will check soil at different times aswell. And I won't rush the fertiliser or anything but I am told this is the season it should be done! Don't want to rush it tho, thanks for all help team!...See MoreRookie needs help with colors
Comments (6)It looks like you have some beautiful built in corner cabinets in the dining room and others in the living room. Wallpaper would look great above the chair rail in the dining room, but not that one. Not sure what else you'd like to do, but some drapery panels on the living room window would look nice....See Morehelp with rookie design questions
Comments (2)On the trim, same color is OK just step up one gloss level from what the walls will be painted. EX: satin on the walls/ semi-gloss on the trim. Yes, match the cabinet hinge color/ finish to the cabinet door hardware. No need to change the swinging door hardware. The hdwe. on the cabinets belongs to the cabinets; the house hdwe. belongs to the house & can be different. I'll go so far as to say that the house hdwe. should be different. To avoid it all coming off as contrived. Consider that you wouldn't think of changing the hdwe. on furniture to match the house, etc....See MoreJulie Clark
