Breville Toaster Oven BOV800XL
Comments (13)I have owned the Breville800XL for 2yrs. Purchased at BB&B w/20% coupon. It is used almost daily, not one problem yet. 4kids, my mom, husband, father n law and myself. I have baked whole chicken, pasta dishes, pizza, all types of frozen kid foods, scratch banana/pumpkin breads, scratch pound cakes, cookies, bundt and cupcakes the (6 muffin pan). It toasts sliced bread and bagels just fine. It is digital, has a timer, convection, warming feature. During rebuild, it was used as our primary oven for months. I have a friend that loved my breville, purchased a less expensive $80 and has thrown it out, "piece of junk". Some people would never spend 200 dollars on a toaster oven. For us, it was well worth it!...See MoreBreville toaster oven flaws?
Comments (45)I agree with all the comments about ease of cleaning. Our first toaster had to be replaced which was also breville. The magnets got so caked with grease that it didn't close properly. These were not spills but residue from grease circulating because it was in vapor form. Also the metal rack wouldn't pull out anymore. So after getting a new one and having for about a year I tried to use oven off. Bad idea! Don't use oven off cleaner! It turned my oven black and I cannot get it off. I believe it ate the finish off. This is a major flaw because the grease is released all over the oven (especially in convection mode) and leaves a grease residue on the door and where it escapes through the top of the door. Without being able to clean these surfaces completely there is no way you can make this oven last longer than 3-5 years tops. I will not be buying again and I am very disappointed (we use it everyday and like it other than that.). If anyone has a different brand in mind, one that can withstand easy off I would be curious to know. Thank you for sharing all your comments they are very helpful....See MoreUsing a Breville compact oven
Comments (4)I have the Smart Oven by Breville - the same as mustangs - she is the Person I credit for influencing me to buy it ! :~) Basically, if it fits in the Breville - it gets cooked in the Breville. I did buy their Pizza pans and make delicious homemade pizza often. I bake pasta dishes - using Le Creuset pans, I bake 1/2 hams -- I buy them by whether they will fit inside the oven-- I make all my baked squashes - acorn, spaghetti, sweet potatoes, etc, -- We love crispy smashed potatoes--- what else???? sometimes I bake fish or salmon --- the normal toaster oven foods, including bagels, toast, breakfast muffins--- like I said - if it fits, I use the Breville. I have an expensive (to me) Dacor oven - hate it! If the Breville broke - I would replace it immediately! It is my go to oven!...See MoreBreville Smart Oven Air?
Comments (4)My Breville is starting to go. It wouldn't toast the other day. Wouldn't do anything. Called customer service and did a couple things to try to reset. Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't. Since the writing is on the wall and a repair would cost $120 (that's nuts!), I decided to take advantage of the sale and buy another for $199. Wasn't interested in the Smart Oven Air....See More
