I can't find the model number but I do have one - it's a couple of years old and within the first year we had to send it back. They sent us a new one. It stopped working in the middle of a bake cycle and had an error "E05" on the screen. Otherwise it's been a pretty good toaster oven, I still haven't tried all the functions on it. I would not buy one unless I got it at a good sale price, though. And I would never leave the house with it on, either.

I bought my Breville Oven 5 or 6 years ago, I think it is the second biggest, which works fine for me. I've used all the functions multiple times and use it daily. Hardest part was finding little baking pans, but are now more available than when I first got it. I have never roasted a whole chicken, tho' it's suppose to be big enough to do so; nor have I done any sort of other type of roast either.

One thing I've found in general: it does seem to matter where you buy small kitchen machines/appliances. I now only buy from places like Sur la Tablé or Wm Sonoma, or like stores. There does seem to be a lesser 'grade' of these sold at discount stores. So, what seems to be such a great price isn't really if it stops working right away. BTDT.

Since the Breville oven came to market some years ago I have never turned on my large oven. It is perfect for all the roasting, baking, broiling and toasting needs of a two person household. My original Breville worked beautifully until it developed a broken door spring problem which meant the oven door would not stay closed. There were numerous helpful tips on line as to how to repair the problem. I tried but found that these old hands did not have the strength to accomplish the detailed repair. The company did correct the problem and introduced a new model. I quickly bought the new oven...model number BOV845 BSSUSC about 6 years ago.

I make all my breads, pastries, etc. As said above, finding perfect 12" pans to fit in the oven has been a challenge. But, many of the larger ceramic and iron casserole dishes do fit. Recently Lodge was selling a wonderful round iron pan for $10.00 that has many daily uses. Great for deep dish pizza! Also I agree that the purchase should be made from one of the recognized kitchen stores. Cooking and creating recipes is my passion. My Breville oven and I are daily good friends heading toward the sunset.

I have the Smart Oven. Also had a problem within the first year. Was replaced free of charge.

I have never had any problems with my Breville Smart Toaster Oven and have had it for about 5 or 6 years. Wish I could be more specific, but when I tried to locate the information on my computer it became apparent that the non-existence of that infor was one of the results of a ransomware attack on my computer.

We also have the Breville Smart Oven for at least 4 years, maybe 5 and love it! Ours cost $299 at Bed Bath & Beyond and they took the 20% coupon so it was about $240. We've never had a problem-- however we did buy the wood "cutting board" to place on top of the oven because the metal top it gets quite hot when it's used. This way we protect the cabinets and my arms!

We bought our daughter the newest Smart Oven with Air Frying last Christmas. They really like it, but it does get pretty greasy inside. However it air fries chicken wings that are delicious with absolutely no fat!

Breville make good appliances. Probably considered the top choice. Reflected in the price point. Second and close is Cuisinart?. Then Oster for good, even great, for the price paid.

I second what was mentioned purchasing locally BB&B or Costco, or SurLaT...easy return if you get a lemon. Whoever has the most lengthy return time.

Not sure where everyone puts all these countertop convenience appliances. I have none of it. Not even a toaster. My built-in 24inch side opening wall oven and steam oven stacked does it all. I need all my counters cleared at all times.

That said, I do have an Oster toaster oven here at my beach house that has its own shelf built-in over my water jug dispenser. Used maybe a dozen times in 5 years. Costco purchased and so simple to use for quick toast and small bakes. Manual dials, timer set/turn off if I'm outside and forget...works great for a spare small oven.

If this will be your main cooking appliance I see no reason to not get the best for the job. 300 is minor compared to a free-standing oven cooktop that it seems is only used rarely. I hear often, "I never use my main oven anymore". Who wants to bend oven practically on your knees to check a big oven when countertop is more efficient and at near eye level....why I have wall ovens.

Another cooking forum likes the CSO Cuisinart steam oven. So much so they have purchased back-ups as it seems they are being discontinued. They also like the Oster French door oven. Considering it for my renovation as I have two kitchens. The smaller kitchen will be a working pantry/baking center. I can give it an open shelf up off the counter. On a open wall of storage shelving.

Looking at back posts I see that I’ve had my smart oven since 2011. The last few years it’s been limping a bit though: the convection fan doesn’t work and the door spring broke so a combination of quarters under the front feet and a dish rag draped over the front keeps it closed. It gets used daily so I can’t fault it too much but I’ve always taken issue with the toasting performance for the price. They’re good but IMO overrated and that’s keeping me from springing for a new one. That Oster looks interesting save for the French doors.

My parents have the smaller Breville (no convection as I recall) and they need to replace it every few years. They use it three meals a day so they’re accepting of the short lifespan.

We had the Breville which we liked but 2 of them died out sooner than we expected. The first was replaced, the second I just threw in the towel. We have replaced it with the French door Oster and we really like it. It sticks out in the back and you can cook a 16 or 18" pizza. Don't use the oven anymore when it's just the 2 of us.
