where can I buy replacement springdown cushions?

I'm in a panic here, anyone know a source for replacement springdown cushions that actually sells to retail customers?

I have a 12 year old sofa with hand tied springs that I had retied earlier this year. I have severe chronic pain and this is the only thing I can sit on all day without pain, yet it has felt uneven, like one side of the cushion is higher than the other when I sit. (I can only sit on the right side because the room situation-- we share housing right now and I live in a 12x12 room.) The fix helped immensely for 6 months, now I'm back to the same situation again. The people who fixed it just had a baby and are out of commission, no one else in Syracuse NY seems to be doing this work-- the other upholsterer in the city is retiring. I don't know if the problem is the sofa or the cushion, so I thought I'd get a new cushion. Only every site that seems to offer this service only sells to trade professionals, and I need this fixed ASAP. I'm in so much pain right now, I don't know what to do about this.

Have you flipped/rotated the seat and back cushions on the sofa?? Your only other recourse is an upholsterer, and it may need to leave to be fixed in any case to re tie springs, and you don't know if that is the cause or if it is simply a pancaked cushion from lack of rotating the seats.. It could entail more expense than simply searching out a new CHAIR you find comfortable and pain free. Try calling Stickley Furniture in Fayetteville NY, ( they may be able to help with the cushioning ) or make an on site visit there and sit on/test drive some chairs.

The best place is to contact the manufacturer and see if they can source replacements for you. Many times the cushions are much more complex than you would think and an additional bonus is that many makers offer lifetime warranties on cushions. If so, they send them to you free of charge, you just pay the freight charge. Duane

" Is there any place I can order in bulk at a discount?" This normally involves purchasing wholesale and many wholesalers will only sell to a retail reseller, not the general public. However, I'd suggest you ask at your local garden center for them to order the quantity of plants you need and this often includes a volume discount but is dependent on the individual practices of any given nursery. My nursery will extend as much as 20% volume discount, depending on the quantity of plants involved. You can also order plugs (usually 2.5" starts in flats of 32) from various online groundcover sources but the price is what it is :-) And shipping costs are involved as well.

They foil covered MDF. Find a shop what will either make/order something close in foil. Or just peel the foil off yourself, and then paint the fronts.

A photo would help especially of the trim removed. Is the wall cladding also PVC and the siding fits into grooves on the trim or does the cladding butt against the trim? Vinyl is PVC which is made in different ways. The most common types are hollow or foam filled thin PVC and solid cellular PVC. I suspect its the thin PVC that cracked because it depends on plasticizers to keep it flexible and eventually they outgas leaving a very brittle material. I would replace it all with cellular PVC.
