I get a kick out of remembering the "Naysayers" at the time, when our President & AD/staff at the time was starting the machinations of the move up from D-II to D-I !! (kinda wondered sometimes about some D-I schools we've played over the years! They had been at this level for some time, and we just destroyed them....! Most were out East...) MANY people thought it was crazy...we'll never compete...too much $$$...etc., etc.....blah-blah-blah! I KNEW it was time!! NOW look at us!! 7 yrs. after starting the transition, we're National Champions in Football! Just a yr. or two ago...we suffered through a 3-8 year! It was 2004 I believe, and the schools had to go thru a 5-yr. "probation"-period, when you couldn't compete in the playoffs...no matter HOW good you ended up! It was a little tougher too on the recruiting end of things. The kids coming INTO the program(s) at the time knew they wouldn't be able to be in any playoffs. But their play paved the way for this eventually. We've had decent success in Basketball, and Women's Volleyball at this level too! "How 'bout them Bison"!!!!!!!!!!!! Faron

(when we arrive), Fri., & Saturday/Gameday, will only be ~~40......aarrrggh! * Last yr., it was 65 on gameday, but 25 the next morning (Sunday) when we left!! * As MANY of you probably remember...that stupidly-named "Polar-Vortex" was pushing South that weekend, & a storm-system had just left Oklahoma, heading East, as we were heading back North! * Saw some cars in OK that had went off the road, & we had to take it easy for a stretch there. Hey.....HI Prepmom!!! Yes, Carson's injury news hit ND/Bison-fans hard. Absolutely SUCKS! Another ESPN crew is in ND doing a documentary of some sort, about Carson, his growing-up in the Bismarck area, Fargo, & his NDSU Bison career. I THOUGHT I heard on ESPN it was airing on New Year's Eve???? Don't quote me there.....? Assuming you guys AREN'T pulling for the "other Dakota" team coming your way soon??!!!?! ;-) If your "D" isn't careful, the Rabbits will score on you....A LOT.... well Faron, i am sorry for your loss :-( we have been there many times so i understand the feeling. we haven't won a championship since 1960, pre SB. so hopefully its our time this year. i love this team!!!!! i have to gloat a little - we shredded your defense and our D came to play!! enough said!!! loved the Flea-flicker play. i was totally wrong about a close, kicking game. i don't think anyone predicted that result. you have a great team and will be back stronger next year!! that's why we love and watch the greatest game played - always hope for next year :)
