String of hearts plant shriveling

I bought a string of hearts plant a few days ago and everything looked fine until I noticed that the end of the steams where new leaves should be growing the plant is shriveling. The leaves look fine and healthy, its just the end of the steamsDoes anyone have any suggestions on what is causing it and what I can do to helpI will try anything, thanks

I don’t have this plant and know ZERO about it I’m wondering though where it lives. Where you have it in the picture...is that it’s regular spot? ...or just there for the photo? If that’s where it lives then is it possible that the stems died at the ends because they aren’t getting enough light? What are that plant’s light requirements? I’m guessing bright but indirect, but I don’t know for sure. Just an idea.

Two of the steams are growing but all others have died at the end

I find this plant to be extremely tolerant of considerable dryness :-) I might water mine once a month or so (approx. same size pot as the OP's) but I do water very thoroughly when I do.......generally by placing the pot in the kitchen sink where the long 'vines' can drape over the edge and dowsing it fully with water. And then I ignore it for weeks!! Mature plants will develop water storage tubers at the roots and often along the stems that will help it survive an extended period without irrigation. And mine gets a lot of light, hanging in a west facing window. The 'vines' are very long - more than 4' - and it seems very happy and flowers periodically so it must like this approach :-) I am not familiar with your soil mix but a fast draining mix like the 5-1-1 or a better cactus mix would be appropriate.

@HU-588717573 this is really interesting to see, thanks for sharing! If you're based in New Zealand, I may be able to offer a cutting, but I don't know about sending plants overseas, I imagine there could be strict import/biosecurity restrictions etc. That is really interesting to hear about the pollination with Woodii. If that is true, then it only raises more questions about how Spades came to be, but could make sense as the flower really is very different to Woodii. Both the Spades leaf and flower feel quite similar to my Rendallii:

I know & grow this plant for years, it's a Ceropegia woodii (an Asclepaid & cousin of Hoyas).

Can't see the shriveled tips well enough to tell. I suspect it's just mechanical damage, like it was stepped on or bumped. Just pinch off the damaged tips & they'll restart new growth elsewhere on the stem. These are not the delicate plants they may appear, they're rugged & sturdy & will recover just fine.

My leaves have a different pattern, but it's the same plant.

What kind of light is yours getting?

Thank you so much for the help! I was really worried about it. I've pinched off the tips and moved to a brighter location in my room. My room has pretty consistent light with not a crazy amount but not low light at any point in the day. Is a window sil okay or will it get too much light?

Your plant looks good to me. All my leaves are curled up.

The new "growth" is very stretched out. Definitely needs more sunlight. Place it where it will get direct, early morning sunlight.
