Comments (12)Audacity records digital audio information. If you're recording a sound sourced from a record, with the sound source connected to a PC, it's gone through a A to D conversion. Which is what my first comment today mentioned as a factor limiting quality. PC level sound converters are of low quality generally. A really good one all by itself costs hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Whether a sound is stored in analog form or in consumer digital source, at the point where it's inside a PC and "recordable", it's digital. Digital is digital, the original source doesn't matter as far as ways to record it. When you say "OP", are you talking about the conversation above from many years back? PS - there's nothing at all wrong with sound stored in digital form, per se. Most modern musical sound recordings are stored in that way. But at the recording studio level, the sound is lossless and is at VERY high bitrates and VERY high sample rates, much higher in both regards than anything available or playable at a consumer level. Comments (14)I want to thank everyone for your suggestions to speed up my router. I tried moving things around. I have conducted tests with the A/C on.....compared to the A/C off. I unplugged phones....turned off my desktop. I tried everything. I want to not only thank you.....but I want to tell you I seemingly have the problem solved. A forum reader sent me an email....suggesting I unplug the router. He went on to suggest I leave it unplugged for about ten minutes....then plug it back in. I guess that would be called "rebooting the router". I tried his suggestion and everything is running much much faster. Again....I want to thank you all for your efforts to help me. Comments (56)Thanks to this thread, I started watching Broadchurch. The second season is just coming to an end in the UK; The newest episode is available every monday night at Couchtuner.eu, which is the free streaming site I have been using. I have also watched two seasons of "The Village", another UK period drama. In some respects it is better than Downton. "Luther" is very, very good, but very dark. I have been enjoying the Doctor Who spinoff series Torchwood, and one US produced sci-fi thing The Last Ship. I really enjoyed "Welcome to Sweden" and I hope they make a second batch of it. Comments (38)2Katz, I’m not sure about that, but since it’s owned by Google, I would suspect so. The picture on my older Plasma is amazing. If you’re not sure, tell ATT you’ll be traveling and want to put the service on hold, there may be a small fee but at least that way you won’t have to pay for it while testing. There’s no contract for youtubeTV and you can cancel any time, plus it’s a month free if you decide not to stick with it. You just have to have a good internet service for it to stream well.
