Furniture Design Dilemma living room

In an ideal world, how would you place furniture in this living room? Struggling with ideal layout given the lack of blank walls (there are windows on the front wall and on either side of the fireplace). We have a medium sized tv that we would like to not put above the fireplace (too high up). We have existing furniture but willing to buy some new items if we figure out what we need. The room on the right when you walk in the front door is used as an office and has built in bookshelves.

Would your sofa fit on the window wall and the TV in the opposite corner?

that is how it is now, I think. do you mean the corner next to the fireplace or directly across from the front door?

This is all great advice & makes lots of sense regarding the size of the rug & position of chairs. Yvonne, you are right on with your comment on the books & lone chair. In order to move the chair up we either need to move the media console or get a smaller one. Where you you suggest books / how to storage / display them? This room had lots of windows not much space for a traditional book case.

Have you moved in? If not you have no idea what the natural flow will b. houses have a way of making the flow not always what you thought it would be. I need to see the whole house floor plan to even begin to guess what the flow could be. As for furniture IMO a sofa and 2 chairs is a much better choice than any sectional for sure . Do you need to have a tV in this space that is usually where the plan starts .If you are in we need pictures of the space showing all 4 walls. Post the plan the pics every thing that relates to this dilemma here in comments DO NOT start another post on this subject.

There is no reason it must be a couch that directly faces the mountain view. There is not one thing wrong with a PAIR of pairs: ) One pair leather, the other fabric, and a different shape. Try to eliminate/switch up reverse this in your mind: The couch faces the fire, is white, two leather chairs. and two CHAIRS different....have their backs to the entry. Can also swivel By the way? Phenomenally comfy chair @ Arhaus The Walsh, ( down below ) which everyone, everywhere I have used it declares that is MY chair here, because it swivels....and rocks : )

Depending on the size of the TV, you could just put it on one side of the fireplace in front of the windows. It's not the ideal placement, but it's common in homes that don't have blank walls.
