Which do you like better?
Comments (1)Joe Ghio's 'Photogenic' is less tailored with ruffled horizontal falls and the standards have ribs of pronounced lavender that extend outwards. Standards are also vy. ruffled and fluted. Won an AM in 2011. A very frothy iris with rich color that lightens nicely with age. 'Planned Treasure' doesn't have nearly the ruffles. Its falls are pale and rimmed lavender which bleeds into the falls a bit with age. Standards are a light peachy pink without contrasting colored ribs. It won an HM in 1988. More demure. 2 vey different iris to me. Older form vs. newer form. Light color vs. saturated color. Totally depends upon your taste....See MoreEntry Hall Chest, (** 4 PICS **) which one do you like better?
Comments (58)parma42, thanks for the Blonde chuckle! Those furniture sites are addicting too.. I spend so much time there! I like the one you posted a link to as well, but now (I am such a nut) think I found another... and after really studying the space and playing with photoshop, I decided the bombe chest #3 is too bulky for the area, so I am ruling that out. My list is shrinking and once again think Les is correct on her thoughts. So, I found this one that is a console - but is a chest too. The size is right, color seems to compliment floors and other furniture.. not sure if the 'style' really flows with the other wood pieces (bTW - I don't like the dining room furniture. It is new - but darker and plainer then I would have picked for this home). Here is my newest find, which is similar to kmcg85 posted. I like the bottom shelf, and that it is also open, but yet has storage. It's simple, yet my dining toom furniture is very plain and simple....See MoreVote - Which layout do you like better?
Comments (70)I'm not sure if I understand Bmore's suggestion either, but I'm okay with the oven location as long as you have identified where you would work when baking. I would center the doorway in the wall space between the ovens and the hutch though. I have my ovens turned at a doorway similar to that and have only 3-4" of wall on each side -- just enough to not have the oven handles sticking out into the opening and to allow the crown to turn the corners. I was thinking Malhgold might have come up with the same thought I had when I started reading that post, but my thougt was a different take. I was sondering about making the kitchen a galley with an open side towards the great room and instead of an island, create a hallway behing it with shallow storage -- kind of a shallow pantry and butler's pantry while takingthe traffic flow out of the work areas. I haven't drawn up anything, so I don't know if it works -- just a concept to throw out there....See MoreWhich rug do you like better?
