Looking for Bathroom lighting design advice

Hi folks,

We’re doing out DIY bathroom renovation and need some lighting design advice.

It‘s a small bathroom, 9’ x 5’, with 2 doors and a tub. We will have recessed lights for ambient lighting and a mirror bar on the top for task lighting.

My question is about the layout of the recessed lights. I heard 3 different opinions about where to place the recessed ambient lights:

1) over the walkway to favor doors/access (2 lights centrally aligned with the doors + mirror bar + 2 lights over the tub)

2) over the vanity and toilet to favor their usage (2 lights aligned with vanity and toilet + mirror bar + 2 lights over the tub)

3) centrally positioned to favor both the walkway and vanity/toilet (2 lights centrally aligned + mirror bar + 2 lights over tub)

PS: one of these lights will be a fan, I found some options which look just like regular recessed can. And the 2 tub lights I thought about using Philips Hue color with shower trim for some chromotherapy.

I did some basic drawing to illustrate the idea.

Which are your thoughts? Or would you recommend something else?

Many thanks in advance!!
