From my garden walk at Dear Daughters yesterday.

Little bat, trying to sleep, clinging to an overhang on my house yesterday. I had no idea their fur was so long and curly!

We have a colony of bats in our barn and I'm so thankful they all seem healthy...no white nose disease. Of course DH is less thrilled that he has to tarp the tractor to keep all the guano off. But we're thankful they each eat about 2,000 bugs a night!

I love ALL creatures. We watch these little guys, while sitting on our deck in the evening. I need a bat house! :0)

from my ride yesterday

We came home from vacation to find three bats were living in our house. One didn't survive it.

They come down the chimney and then get in through the crack between the firebox and doors. We find them regularly in the middle of the night flying about trying to get out...never have we had bad dropping issues. Isn't that odd?
