Comments (32)That parakeet looks like the one that came knocking on my kitchen window one cold windy March day about 25 years ago. I was doing dishes and was startled by the pecking on the glass. When I saw what it was, I opened the window and it stepped right onto the finger I offered it. At the time we were completely redoing the kitchen. That little bird hung out mostly on DH's shoulder all the while he was working with the installation of new cabinets, hammering, sawing, up and down the steps to the basement etc. It was obvious that someone had put a lot of time into the little thing. It would pace back and forth in front of our large bathroom mirror saying "pretty bird' and "good bird" over and over. It would fly to the source whenever it heard running water and try to get under the stream and bathe. Kept it for 2 weeks, trying to find it's owner. Never did, so gave him to a friend that raised and bred canaries. Little bat, trying to sleep, clinging to an overhang on my house yesterday. I had no idea their fur was so long and curly!
