Need Help Identifying 2 Weeds

Hello all,

The first weed is taking over my lawn in dense swaths along the border where it butts up against a wild common area (not sure why these aren't rotated correctly):

The second weed appears in clusters in several areas around the yard. Ignore the clover underneath. It's the taller, longer weed:

I've been hand pulling, but there's just too much of it. I'm assuming these are annuals and a per-emergent would work? What timing would you suggest?

If I wanted to spot treat with a post emergent, would a Mecoprop-p, 2,4-D, Dicamba combo work or are they more the type of weed that Fenoxaprop-p (crab grass killer) will kill?

I avoid triclopyr beause it's such a tree/bush killer if you get any on roots.

I mow my grass at 3.75" btw, and I water very deeply, when I do (haven't at all this year).

Top plant is Kummerowia striata, Japanese Clover.

Bottom could be Japanese Stiltgrass. I have never seen either of these plants irl and cannot offer help on getting rid of them.

Thanks! These are both annual weeds, correct? So a pre-emergent, like Dimension, applied at the time you would typically treat for crab grass in teh Spring would be effective?

Possibly Chickweed, a plant that grows best in a soil that lawns really like, a rich, near neutral soil. Chickweed is a cool weather annual and so it will die off as temperatures rise. 24 in one post is a very tall order but I'll start you off. It is generally easier for us if plants are posted one or two at a time. And please don't make us keep clicking to open images. Post them in the body of the message. 1. Taraxacum officinale - Dandelion 2. A member of the Rubiaceae - possibly Galium aparine - Goosegrass or Cleavers. 3. Stellaria media - Chickweed 4. Mercurialis perennis - Dogs mercury 5. Geranium species - which one depends a lot on where it is growing. 6. I am going to stop here because I have the feeling I am doing your homework for you. For future reference please always tell us where in the world the plants are growing and give an indicator of scale. Also it is far easier to id a growing plant than one which has been pulled up and is beginning to wilt.

As I said I don't know these plants from experience. Neither grows in the British Isles. I've also never used any herbicide so can't add anything on that subject. I suggest you google each one for how to treat them.

Stilt grass you just pull up before it goes to seed.

Agree about the stiltgrass. Do not let it go to seed. It is VERY INVASIVE and will take over whole forests. Pull it out as you see it. It first came into this country as dry packing material in shipments from Japan and has taken over where it is left to grow. Nothing will grow where it grows once it takes over. Horrible horrible plant. I can only control it on my property. I am powerless over it around my area.
