1/2" open gap between wall tiles and wall - how to fix?

  1. This show the 1/12" gap. The wall tiles are 24" square.

The rest of my photos show up sideways, even though I tried to edit them. Anyway, the gap starts at 3/8" at the floor and increases to 9/16" at the top, 8 feet from the floor. The ceiling is higher and vaulted, and so I had the tiles stop at 8 feet.

There is a brushed stainless steel trim to cover the edge of the tile, even though I would have preferred a tile edge, but the contractor told me that this is how they finish the edges, in case cuts have been made. After seeing this, I sent him an email saying I would have preferred a tile border to cover this gap, since the metal is not doing it. It is Saturday, and I have not yet heard back from him. I will try to download some photo editing software so that I can show more photos. I took this with my phone, and I very rarely take photos with my phone - only in emergencies.

How can this gap be filled?
