I'll try to share some more photos

I don't have time to resize all the hundreds of photos that I've accumulated over the summer so

I'm going to have to fight to get as many posted as I can. For some strange reason only certain photos are loading when I post, even though they're all the same size. So I will endure the frustration of Houzz for all my daylily friends! My season is winding down but it was a glorious, long bloom season.

(Since I never know beforehand which photo will load and which won't, I will label the pictures AFTER

they show up)

Well, I can't pick a favorite! I love purples, watermarks, spiders, you have them all! I love the big ruffles on Dream Sequence too. Just too hard!

So, about half of the photos I tried actually 'took'. I'm convinced Houzz hates certain daylilies (or people). I will try a few more just to show Houzz it can't keep me down!

They are all beautiful. My favorite out of this bunch would be Sugarplum Glaze. The hybridizer for APH (Emily Olson) lives about 5 miles from me. I think she still does mail orders. I haven't been to her place in a couple years. Had to go to the grocery store here today also. Spent the rest of the day steam cleaning carpet. yuck.... Not sure how much good it will do with all this rain and 4 children. lol But we're having a birthday party this weekend for my daughter. Hoping the rain stops before then so they can stay outside. Thanks everyone. I'm far enough behind on posting that the asiatic lilies are just about done and the orientals are starting. SPRINGFIELD CLAN is a big impressive flower and a beautiful clear red color. It took a while to get going here, but has been worth the wait. JOAN DERIFIELD has been very impressive. Great bud count and good increase and I love the flower.

I know about the comments deal (haven't tried it yet), but I want the big picture under the header if I can get it. It's just a matter of how long I can wait it out. I'm on the uphill side of peak, so I'll keep trying for awhile longer.......Really?? We posted to the Furniture and you to the Lighting Forum? I'll have to check if my picture showed up in the Furniture Aisle. So now when I post no show pictures I must also go to the effort of checking boxes. I actually see the point of this new feature; in essence "ccing" your post to another relevant forum, but they need to warn you better about box ticking....BTW, this is my second attempt to send this post. Shelia, both you and Ingrid have inspired me to get more Teas! I have Madam Joseph Schwartz and Gilbert Nabonnand shipping from ARE in a few weeks! I adore both your gardens. Except for a few years in Pocatello ID, I have spent my whole life in a climate of rainy winters and dry summers so I think the ascetic of both your gardens really speaks to me. The Tea roses against the backdrop of a dry summer heat are just sooooo beautiful!

So glad you fighting the good fight here! I absolutely adore Kitty Bannerman and Lucky Streak. I wonder how purple Lucky Streak would be here. I’m glad you posted Emma’s Green Giant, it was added here this spring but no blooms yet. Getting Airborne looks wonderful with its companion plantings.

I missed the 2nd batch. I have been seeing Inquire Within this year, every time I see it I look back several times. I started to order it from someone I think, but talked myself out of it. It 8s still callin'my name though.

I agree with Brad-Mountain Bluebird is wonderful-your purple mountain, I suppose! I also really really like Kitty Bannerman and it appears to be opening well with ruffles and edges. Lucky Streak also stands with those white midribs. So many, all pretty!

I'm glad to see all of these. I think Mountain Bluebird and Kitty Bannerman are my top favorites. Westbourne Good Old Days and Venus's Fire are looking good too!

Such nice groupings--especially the ox tears clump, the Erin Lea with fern and rudbeckia, the Venus Fire group. While Houzz gives me problems, one thing I don't experience is resizing issues. I never have to resize my photos. Years ago, I had to do this all the time with garden web, but I just drag them into the photo slot.

I don't resize either. Maybe I should but that would involve me learning how on my very limited editing program (if I even have that feature?) and I'm not up to it.........My favorites are Kitty Bannerman, Lucky Streak and Acquire the Fire. Interestingly enough, that deep red you get on Acquire the Fire is the same here in our climate (heat index = 110 F Tuesday, actual temperature 104 F) - with exceptional colorfast/sunfast qualities for such a dark color. That makes it one remarkable daylily in my book.................Maryl

All are beautiful! Kitty Bannerman has some serious ruffles! Lucky Streak is my favorite of the group. I keep saying I am going to get that one, but since we are trying to downsize, it's hard to justify buying more.

dick_in_ohio, Quite a few years ago, when she was still selling her introductions, I got it directly from the hybridizer, Christine Weitz (upstate NY). Unfortunately, she is no longer selling. I was able to get quite a few of her intros. It is unusual for a heavily ruffled daylily like KB to open well

in my climate and it is the only ruffled one I grow. I like her so much I set pods on her this year.
