Thinking of this idea as bar type versus single pendant concept

50 x 62 is not a large island so your light selection is going to have to be very specific. It needs to be chosen before drywall and electrical. The time to choose your lighting is now, not after the fact. Where are you at as far as cabinetry etc? What if anything will be on the island? Sink? Prep sink? cook top? What will be on the wall behind the island? Will you have a hood or other feature that will affect light placement?

A sink In the first 24 inches of island. Nothing else on island aside for that. T

Because the sink is off center in the island a single light fixture centered will probably look the most balanced. Do you have an eating area in the kitchen as well? If so, Now would be the time to consider what type of lighting you will be putting there as well. What shape table will be there will be a factor for that light. You will want your island light and table chandelier to compliment each other.

So we have an eating area right off the door way. Probably a rectangular table with attached pendant above it one of these in black tone to match.

Would a 52 inch bar light be took big over my 62 inch island ? So should I just make one hole over island for fixture ?

What I find interesting about your plan is that the faucet placement is on the parallel with the shorter side of your island. So because of that I feel like not only one light but it should also NOT be linear in shape.

Input it there bec I wanted to utilize island counter as much as I can. The last 12 inches are a eating area with bar stools. Not visible from birds eye view. If I put sink middle. I lose my entire prep area

So ur saying I should put 2 lights evenly spaced at either wide island ?

No I am saying I would do one centered fixture.

One centered hole then when you look for lighting just keep that in mind and no to a linear one for sure. Your island is an odd proportion am I seeing right that you have 2 cooktops or ranges the walkway on the side of the seating needs to be at least 60” do you have that?

We have 2 sets of ranges dishes washers and 3 sinks. The last 12 inches from island is seating

We have about 42-45 inch clearance in the iasles of kitchen

If I do one center my question is do I center it from the entire granite ? Or form only after the sink area

Center it on the total island. A light doesn't just come straight down the "arms" will spread over the total area so if not centered it will look "off"
