A late FFO a couple of repeats

We had a brief rain shower this morning but forecast calls for a storm late this afternoon. It was 60F this morning but has quickly heated up. Yesterday I started power washing the siding on our house with this product that you attach to your garden hose. I think I was power washed more than the house trying to work the dang thing and what a mess on the screens and windows.

Finally, ROUEN CATHEDRAL has started to bloom today. I've not had a problem with it opening on cool mornings. It did get rained on but held up okay.

One of my favorites which always puts a smile on my face is EVIDENCE OF ALIENS. It looks like it is in a wind tunnel. I plan to move it soon. This was taken 2 days ago.

KENTUCY LUCKY out did itself this season. Pic taken 2 days ago. I guess Isle of Patmos and Count It All Joy decided to get in on the photo as well.

FLYING TRAPEZE went very pale 2 days ago which is unusual to see here.The blooms do a nice cascade and never top heavy in buds.

CORAL MAJORITY - has been blooming but the first set of blooms would not open properly. I plan to move it out of its spot. Has a lot of scapes but not many buds per scape.

The Unknown seedling took on a more pinkish tone 2 days ago. I've seen this happen before but not sure why it happens.

And of course, I have to post TAHITI SWEETIE who is still going strong. Rambunctious Rosie is in the background. Pic taken 2 days ago.

HIGH WATERMARK is nearing the end to its bloom cycle. Pic taken 2 days ago.

That is it for today. Piedmont Paleface still has not opened. Maybe tomorrow. Hubby is scheduled for surgery next month so our children will be coming here in a couple of weeks to visit us and help me with some chores that I need help with. Maybe I can get one of them to do the power washing lol.

All of your blooms are gorgeous - impossible to pick a favorite. I hope your husband's surgery will go well. Definitely get one of the kids to try the power washing!

Jessica, to answer your question about LB, I've only had it a couple of years, and the scapes didn't get as tall this season as they should have, but then, it's been a crazy year weather wise. I do love the color and form of LB very much, and hopefully next season will be a better one for dl's. Thanks for your compliments about my photos. I just use a Kodak CX7525, but it takes pretty good pics. :) Thanks to everyone else who has commented on my photos also. You're all the greatest, and I love sharing my dl's with you all, but I also love seeing yours, so get to posting some more please!!! :) Jan

Kate, when you build those new beds, they will fill up quickly, I know--it will be "hemaholic heaven" when the blooms start. Sherry, whatever space is available is just fine for the daylilies so we can get those beatiful blooms. To all of you who like Jean Swann, there are four plants and with this many blooms, there is fragrance, too. Jean was ordered about ten years ago from a catalog--I believe the cost was $18 for three plants--I laugh now, for at that time I thought that was a lot of money for daylilies. The fourth plant came when Jean produced a proliferation, the only one we have ever seen. Celeste, I hope Katherine Caldwell does as well for you as it has here. I just wish our Stargate Portal was as pretty as yours. Our plant is really puny for some reason, but we will wait and hope it gets better as it gets older. Kay, I saw the picture of Jan Zoo that Julie Covington posted a few years ago and just had to get one. I actually had some trouble finding a source, but mine came from Bonnie Nichols of Oak Hill Daylilies. I also got Sunny Intervals and Katherine Caldwell from her, plus a number of other of our daylilies came from her.

Julia, I usually have 3 1/2 or more months of blooms, but only two months of heavy bloom. I am still findind plants that have pu tjust put up rebloom scapes. . Late April to mid-September is the longest season, I remember having but I have actually have had a few blooms in October. September is generally hot here and we usually do not really have a freeze until November. If we get adequate rain, the rebloom scapes seem to increase. Kate has a long season too, and outs are just offset a bit since I am further south than she is. I am much less diligent at photo taking now as is usual. I miss some clumps, and occasionally a first bloom. It is just the weather. kay

Rouen Cathedral looks lovely! For some reason I didn’t remember it’s a late, a bonus! Tahiti Sweetie looks great, I like it more each time I see it. Wishing your hubbie well for his Surgery.

Kentucky Lucky bloomed quite early this year; almost an EM. Nice clumps of all of these.

I really like Evidence of Aliens, and still like Kentucky Lucky and Tahiti Sweetie. Flying Trapeze sounds like a great plant. Coral Majority has been having a good year for me. I moved it last fall, so I did not expect much, but it has been blooming for weeks, reblooming starting before the 1st round ended.

Absolutely give those children that chore to do! Also sending good thoughts for husband’s surgery. There are so many good views on here. Kentucky Lucky is looking seriously good in that clump shot. Still loving Tahiti Sweetie and that color! Flying Trapeze is so pretty but then they all are! You look like you have plenty of buds to delight!

Evidence of Aliens is a happy looking daylily and Coral Majority is a good one for me too. Surprisingly I almost lost it when we had that hard winter a couple of years back, but it is in a pot so things can get a little more dicey for it then if it were in the ground.......I'll say a prayer for your husbands safe recovery...........Maryl

Thank you all for the comments, We had thunderstorms late yesterday afternoon and continued through late evening. Suppose to get more storms this afternoon and the humidity will start ramping up. The crosses I need a month or so ago with Spring Mystique and Lavender Blue Baby are looking very good. Some areas of the gardens are completely devoid of daylily blooms while other areas are continuing. Other perennials are continuing.
