Farm Life Pennsylvania Gardening Insects

Anyone know what insect this is?

Looks kind of like a cricket, but with a separate thorax and abdomen. Much larger than any cricket I've ever seen, maybe 2+ inches and very fast. looked almost lizard like when running. Found on driveway in a rural small farming town in SC Pennsylvania.

Thanks, never saw one before, I was wondering if it was some non-native invasive species.

Well it's not a Japanese beetle so that's only 7,999,999 to go. :-) It's just hanging out and buzzing around slowly. It was fighting/mating with a 2nd one yesterday.

Looks like a female. If it is the Northern mole cricket, it is indeed native. These crickets hang out in underground tunnels and tend to be primarily nocturnal.

I live in East Tennessee, and I've had those in the house before.

I just suck them up in the vacuum cleaner.

Scary looking bug, but I hate them all once they get in my house.
