Need advice on centering furniture
Comments (7)Below is really great instructions for posting photos. The way I do it is by uploading my photos to Photobucket. Then, I copy the 'Direct Link' from Photobucket wherever I want the photo to appear in my response. I then follow the directions under #2 in the link below. It is REALLY easy. You don't even need to read the whole thing if you do it that way. Let us know if you have any questions! Comments (20)We completely redid an existing house and had to work w existing front upper window exterior that was in a weird spot. the lower ones couldnt be shifted more centered in room than what we did. you can see the ceiling drop in the pic and I am planning to move it a few inches to the left but not centered bt windows- to allow the table (96" normal length) and I planned to put a buffet (72" long under windows and slightly longer on right side to visualize space better. Opinion on that? Length of space from the left to right (to built in) is 15 1/2ft. but as you can see, if table enlarges, it will just overflow which is fine into open space. what do you think of the chandelier choices- would like to go w 9 light, but think 5 light is better sized for space...opinion on that? Comments (4)I would take off the indent above the fireplace, replace the mantle with the same size piece of wood, and update the tiles. Gut the area where the TV is now and have a custom cabinet, flush with the fireplace wall, with an open shelve for the TV just a few inches lower than what it is now. Below the TV two wide drawers, one about 5 or 6 inches deep and the other about 11 or 12. Above the TV, two cupboards....See MoreBedroom with off center windows and alot of blank wall space
Comments (8)I like your bedside tables but they are too big for the current location. They feel too visually tight and the one at the door overlaps the door frame - against the visual rules, looks weird. I agree with DM. It looks to me that the wall to place the front of the bed is the one opposite the closet/bathroom door wall. I cannot tell if you have enough room at the end of the bed to do this. It need not be a full wall of solid fabric draperies. It could be translucent fabric. Check out The Shade Store or Smith & Noble Draperies. Or there is always IDEA for a really cheap solution. It's ok if you see the door through the draperies. That should do the trick to pull the room together....See MoreRL Relocation LLC
