I'm in the camp that can't stand to read a long post in all caps and that is something folks should know is considered yelling and very irritating on the internet. Period. Has been for many years. My reply is to the replies and not to the OP, so sorry if I missed something. I'd compare the Thermador fridges with the SZ. At the time I bought mine, Thermador was a better use of space and better ice maker placement. No regrets. Wolf rangetop -- no regrets. Don't have the DF range though. DW -- Bosch or Miele. I have a Bosch, well technically a Thermador that ran a little less than the Bosch in the ready for panel model. Mine is the next to top model - generally the most needed and used features, as quiet or nearly as quiet as the top model, without paying for a lot of bells & whistles that aren't needed. Coffee maker -- If you are a big coffee drinker, I'd look at a counter model that can give you even more versatility and features. I think they make better coffee and give you more versatility. We have 2 Jura S models, the first of which we bought more than 10 years ago (DH took that one to the office and we got a stainless front one for the redone kitchen). Want to brew directly into an espresso cup as well as a tall latte mug -- you can. I haven't used a steaming pitcher half a dozen times since we got this so I have less to clean up. Entertaining on the patio on a cool evening -- you can take the coffee maker as well as the wine bucket. We even took one to the school and made coffee for the judges and directors at a music event -- really impressed them. The thing dies or you decide you want something newer -- you aren't stuck with a hole in the wall. If you're going to splurge (and you don't need to convince me it's worth it -- the newer one is up to nearly 5000 servings), at least look at your other options and make sure it's the best splurge for your use.

I am so looking forward to having a morning kitchen in the next house. It's a big place and the kitchen is down a flight or two of stairs. I'm going to take out a bathroom (there are too many) between what are now two bedrooms. The one bedroom will become a big master suite closet with washer and dryer (for family use) and between that room and the master will be a passage way morning kitchen. Currently it's a closet converted to a bathroom, so I'll split it in two with the hallway, one side will have a small sink, fridge and items for after dinner drinks and wine (glasses etc). The other side will have a built in coffee maker and a single dish washer drawer. I can't claim to be the angel that amity is (and I mean that in sincerity! I love people who work their family into their lifes. It's the right thing to do) but I still love peace and sanity in a home with a small child. We have a lovely turret in the room and I can see myself getting up earlier than DS (I do that now) just for that hour of total peace and quiet, enjoying a lovely latte in my jammies :) And at night, the ability to have a glass of port after a long day is not to be sneezed at :) The ability to do it in peace is even better LOL To plan one in a small room though, just think like a hotel (I don't think that's a bad thing by the way). Get a lovely try to set a 2 cup coffee maker on with the acoutremants (spelled terribly dang it) of a pot of coffee with any necessary additives (do you do cream, etc?) If necessary, put a tiny refridgerator somewhere for that stuff, or use the stuff that does not need refridgeration. A couple cups is of course a must as well as a nice napkin and spoon. If you put this all on a tray, and then set that on a dresser or side table, or even in the bathroom if you have a larger counter, you can easily take it to the kitchen with you after your morning coffee time and clean and refill your supplies, then return it to the bedroom during the day after all is tidy, ready for the next morning. I'm sure before we start our remodel this will be my system :) I'm going to add this in our master closet in this house as soon as it's finished :) I have a nice big dresser top that will be free space (something I don't have much of now). By the way, I used to make these trays up for an inn, so I know that once you're used to doing it daily it's about a 2 min clean up and refill. The key being the tray that is always used to carry things back and forth.

Hello everyone and thanks! I guess I should of better explained myself. From the sounds of my first post, it is written as if I have done no homework, no research, and don't have a clue of where to begin. That is all false. It sort of seems like I gave that impression. I definitely have done my homework. I was just looking for anything last minute I guess, like maybe something that I am forgetting about or didn't think about. I have already met with the "cabinet guy" - I already have my layout down. I know what organizational things I want for the most part. Just trying to envision where I want everything placed and so that is one thing. I am pretty set on appliances for most part. Thinking my Miele coffee station I want to move from the kitchen area over to the hutch though in the breakfast room. I am thinking I want a "beverage station" in the hutch. So, I would like a wine cooler with area for misc. beverages too (kids stuff, beer, glass bottled iced teas, etc....) Don't need a big wine cooler. We barely drink it, but would be nice to have a few bottles kept in the correct temp and then if it is one that can hold misc. drinks too, then that would be perfect. ??? Or just a small 15 wine center frig, and maybe a refrig drawer for all the other beverages. I appreciate all the links that I will definitely page through. I still have a few hours till my bedtime! haha! :) Seriously though, thanks to all. I guess I should of clarified a bit....I was really just looking for any last minute tid-bits that maybe I am not thinking about. I would be in big trouble if I was just starting to plan my kitchen tonight with only 10 hours till I have to have final answers to cab man. I have spent countless hours over the last few months on all this. Just trying to cover all bases I guess. Thanks again!

I just sold a job a couple weeks ago. They wanted this. Some semi-custom cabinets have them but limited in size. I am doing it in Shiloh. I ordered the SW4557(12) with finished white paint interior, void the bottom rail (so open to the countertop and the doors shipped loose and said no pocket hinge holes. I ordered extra material to make the bookcase to set inside. It will be screwed in to the back of the cabinet. Here is the rendering of that area of the kitchen.
