celerygirl - THANK-YOU SO MUCH!!!! I don't want to push it, but if it is fairly simple for you, could you make the brick a deep, slate blue and the porch white? That is exactly what I am envisioning and you brought it to life!

I think when you paint the brick, it would be smooth , not so visible grout as on my pic and, with white window and door trim would go good.

But I do not understand why you want to go with slate, your roof is slate already. Make some contrast.

I explained the color incorrectly! It is more of a dark gray-blue I am going for.

Just a though if you are going to do all that to the exterior I would fix the driveway so the old garage/now room doesn't look like a garage turned into a room

I agree with you 150% about the driveway!!! We are hoping for a "phased" approach to the whole transformation considering we don't have a ton of money to throw into it at one time. I think maybe I should just tell you "dark blue" for the paint color! I can't thank you enough for this - I am assuming you are a designer?

So you want to paint real brick and then add fake stone to the chimney I guess I ave a problem with that .I like the idea of the front porch but rarly like painting brick even if HGTV does it all the time IMO it devalues your house and O aslo think the porch and some good landscaping would add value .
