I have an old armoire in the computer room where all that stuff plus MUCH more is stuffed, er, kept. I do have baskets for everything, but there is overflow. ha

Extra pens, well... there are pencil & pen holders in the kitchen, office & bedroom.

Extra batteries, in a basket on top of fridge.

Charging station is in the kitchen and by the bed. (both sides)

Spare light bulbs and extra batteries are kept in plastic bins in an upper cabinet in our utility room. Pens and pencils are in a holder in the kitchen. Plus some stashed in drawers in random places around the house where I need one on occasion...desk in study, next to my bed, table in den, bathroom.

The back stocks of light bulbs, tape, bags and batteries are stored in cabinets in the garage. Office supplies and miscellaneous electronic device peripherals are in the home office as are printer supplies. There are extra rolls of toilet paper in each bathroom and the rest is in the garage. The kitchen desk is also stocked with pens, tape, a glue gun, glue, stamps, bandages and paper clips.

I remember reading Marie Kondo's advice to have all like things together in one place, but I don't think that idea quite makes sense for some floor plans, especially houses with multiple floors. To me, it makes more sense to have items where I use them.

Well, I dont really understand ole girl Kondo. My organizing style is what I like to call. "Its in there....SOMEWHERE." Especially in my pantry and fridge.

Looking at Nicole’s laundry room, I completely forgot where I have stuff. Just kidding, I have the batteries in a kitchen drawer, some light bulbs in the laundry room cabinet and extra pens in cups wherever I might need one. But I still want that laundry room.

I want it too. I have a really big laundry room, but it's not nearly as awesome as hers.....

I have almost - not quite - the same amount of cabinets in my laundry as Nicole, but its not that new, and not granite either. It's 1955 original tile counters, but such a convenient room. It has a utility closet too. I have lightbulbs in the closet (DH has been buying floods and things in bulk from a commercial supply) and in one double cabinet. I think between fixtures, lamps, outdoor lighting (three kinds outside), this house takes about 27 different sized lightbulbs or close to that ;0)

Batteries are in a laundry room drawer. My pens are in my desk in my office. Two always out on top of it, and two in my purse. DH's pens are in his desk, and a pottery container on top his desk. He doesn't need nearly the pens, pencils, colored pens now that he did when actively working but I don't think he's let go of many yet.

Most of that kind of stuff is stored on the shelves next to my workbench in the basement. TP is in the bathroom closets.

A few things have remained constant in our household, even when we've moved: extra light bulbs, batteries, and bandaids (all beginning with "b", never noticed that before) are stored in the downstairs powder room vanity drawers. Extra TP is under the sink in the center compartment of each bathroom's vanity. Extra pens are in the back of the kitchen junk drawer. In this house, extra office type supplies are kept in a dresser in the library room -- with the printer on top of the dresser.

I grew up in a house that my mom kept VERY organized. Everything had "a home" and woe be it if you did not return an item to its proper home in a timely manner. You could look in our hall closet and see at a glance the asprin, band aids, extra towels, extra deodorants, toothpastes, hand lotions, etc, all neatly lined up. Dad kept his tools logically ordered in the workroom area of the basement. It was nice growing up with organized parents; DH came from a different environment in that respect. (Loved my in-laws but household organization was not their forte.)

Back up supplies of 'everything household' are in our back hall/laundry room. I have about half the cabinetry that Nicole has in the laundry area at one end of this hall. Batteries, chargers, etc. are on or under a counter there. Incoming/Outgoing stuff lands there. Shredder is there.

The hall runs between garage and kitchen. At the other end is a powder room, with a long, deep closet opposite -- hanging space, cleaning equipment, ironing board, and paper goods on shelves.

The MBA has a closet with bathroom-related items. A bedroom hall closet holds sheets and blankets.

There is a nook in our hallway where we have a six drawer dresser. Light bulbs and batteries are kept in one of those drawers. Hubby and I each have pen holders on our desks; extras are in one of his desk drawers along with other office supplies such as paper clips, staples, tape, post it notes, etc.

Big items such as TP, paper towels, tissues, etc., are kept in a storage room off of our garage.

Nicole, I think you've set the standard for what a laundry room should be - gorgeous!

Thank you for all the compliments. It's my "new" digs....a work in progress. A lot of the house was "unfinished".

My laundry room has a closet to the left in that photo & big window at the end of the room, then it adjoins a mud room. I have a piece of granite in the garage to install on THIS counter.....it's just not finished yet.

I have 2 small drawers next to the refrigerator which is where I have batteries, pens, tape, rubber bands -- stuff that I would want to grab easily and most often in the kitchen.

Printer paper is in a drawer next to the printer.

I have one of those plastic drawer units in the basement where I keep light bulbs, vacuum cleaner bags, trash bags. Another old dresser down there is pantry space for "bought on a great sale" items like tissues, paper towels, the next bottle of vitamins/supplements; canned soup, beans and so forth. Have a third old cupboard also in the basement where I keep cleaning supplies that I don't use daily.

Toilet paper is in a hamper in the bathroom -- and if I (again) found a great sale, excess would go in the spare bedroom's closet along with the next bottle of shampoo, hand soap and body wash.
